Star Wars Genesis is the open-world RPG we've been dreaming of

Are you a Star Wars fan? Do you have 230 GB spare on your hard drive? And have you ever played Starfield and thought to yourself, “Wow, this is great, I just wish I was playing a completely different game right now instead”?

Well, in that case, let me introduce you to Star Wars Genesis.

Star Wars Genesis isn’t your average mod. In fact, it’s not actually a mod, it’s like a hundred different mods all rolled into one big, Star Wars-shaped package.

The modlist, created by Nexus creator DeityVengy, aims to transform Bethesda’s Starfield into the “ultimate Star Wars RPG” – which sounds like an impossible task to me.

However, after watching one of the trailers for the modlist… I am more than convinced.

Honestly, at this point I’m not even sure if it’s right to call this a “modlist” anymore, because this looks like a whole new game to me.

Modlist author DeityVengy refers to Star Wars Genesis as “a modlist created by a passionate Star Wars lover and mod author” and boasts that it features “countless mods of [DeityVengy’s] own that were built specifically for it, including the Main Story Conversion, Soundtrack, Environmental Storytelling, Custom Balancing, Roleplay Elements, and Lore.”

They’re not kidding about the “countless” part either.

The modlists features a completely new main story quest, over 10,000 converted voice lines from Star Wars media, new alien NPCs and even playable species, custom cities, a complete audio overhaul, and, of course, a whole bunch of Star Wars armours, weapons, and ships.

Be warned however; installing this bad boy isn’t as straightforward as clicking a single button.

First up, you gotta make sure you’re on version 1.13.61 of Starfield. The modlist author does include downgrade instructions if you need them.

Secondly, if you want the true experience, you’re gonna need about 230 GB of space (although thankfully that does include Starfield itself).

The mod author does also specify that it doesn’t play nice with other mods outside of the modlist, and you’ll also need to start a fresh save to get it to work.

Better hope you’ve got a Nexus Premium account if you want this downloaded before 2026 though.
