In my liberation, I can start as many games as I want and I never feel guilty, which is good because the game that I’m going to recommend to you today is an absolute time sink.

Yes, I hear you. Factorio has been around since 2020, but that doesn’t make it any less worthy of getting a shoutout now – especially as you can sample the game for free on Steam.

Honestly, no description can do justice to the wonderful chaos that is running your fully fledged automation empire.

It’s an assault on the eyes at times but that’s part of the fun – keeping up with the million and one things you have going on.

Factorio has a score of 90 over on Metacritic and an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating of 97% on Steam.

As I mentioned, it’s totally free to try as Steam is home to a free demo.

If you do like what you play, the full game will set you back £30.

As a warning, it does take over 92 hours to complete, according to HowLongToBeat, with completionists putting in around 216 hours.

Usually I’d say that’s this weekend’s entertainment sorted, but maybe it’s entertainment sorted for the entirety of 2025.
