With The Game Awards kicking off tonight, fans across the world are guessing at what games will be revealed and whether we’ll see any gameplay footage.
This is spurred on by leakers and industry insiders who are reporting, vaguely, on what might appear. This has fans of the upcoming Elder Scrolls VI hanging on every detail coming out before the show airs.
Journalist Jason Schreier has been dropping hints everywhere and, of course, fans on the Elder Scrolls subreddit have latched onto them in hope.
One thread titled, “So you’re telling me there’s a chance”, is hoping that with Todd Howard of Bethesda presenting on stage, we may get to see footage of the anticipated RPG.
The hype dies there with so many fans realising he’s probably in attendance to discuss other things, like the recent release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, or perhaps tease another expansion for Starfield.
In another thread, one fan holds out hope that we’ll get something about the game, guessing we’ll see “a new cinematic trailer”.
It seems most are resigned to not seeing the game, though perhaps they’re trying to reverse jinx the situation.
You know, by not mentioning how excited you are, pretending you don’t care, then it will actually be shown.
“Almost zero chance Todd is ready to talk about the game,” says Xilvereight.
Gex2-EnterTheGecko agrees, saying, “There is zero chance he talks about TES6. He might talk about something else, though.”
It’s always hard to tell what could be shown at The Game Awards. It’s the grandest stage of them all now that E3 is over.
If there was a time to show The Elder Scrolls VI, it’s there with millions watching at home.
One user is testing the waters, and perhaps some patience with a suggestion, “I hate to say it but an updated version of Skyrim with 4k textures and ce2 lighting would be really really nice.”
