Agatha All Along is the latest show in the MCU. It is both a sequel and a spinoff of WandaVision, focusing on Agatha Harkness after she escapes from her magical prison created by the Scarlet Witch.
Because of its link to WandaVision and its exploration of magic in the MCU, fans have been hoping to see the Scarlet Witch come back or make an appearance in the show.
Showrunner Jac Schaffer has explained that we won’t see Wanda in the show because it’s focused on Agatha, and Wanda might take attention away from her. However, this doesn’t mean we won’t see the Scarlet Witch come back.
Scarlet Witch collapsed Darkhold Castle on herself and destroyed all copies of the Darkhold, which left her presumed dead. She is one of the most powerful characters in the MCU, but she’s also vulnerable, meaning she can be killed more easily than strong characters like Hulk and Thor.
The falling debris could have easily killed Wanda’s human body, but fans have always believed she wouldn’t stay dead for long. There have been many theories about how Wanda could return to the MCU, and we may have overlooked something important—Rio Vidal.
Rio Vidal was introduced in Agatha All Along Episode 1 as the Green Witch and an enemy of Agatha. However, it was soon revealed that they have a very complicated relationship, being both enemies and lovers at the same time.
A leak of Marvel merchandise after the show debuted suggested that Rio Vidal is actually Lady Death, the fourth cosmic entity in the MCU. This made sense because Vidal seemed desperate to kill Agatha, which fits since Agatha’s domain is about spirits.
The clear confirmation that Rio Vidal is Death came in Agatha All Along Episode 7 when Lilia Calderu referred to her as such.
Since the first episode, Rio Vidal has been traveling with the coven, collecting dead bodies, but she may also play a key role in Wanda’s resurrection.
Death is a cosmic-level entity that can do almost anything within certain limits. While these limits might be stricter in the MCU, there’s no doubt that Death can bring someone back to life.
Lady Death could be what everyone is looking for on the Witches’ Road, and that might be why very few people survive the journey. Agatha may have survived because she was able to seduce Death.
It’s possible that Agatha and Billy will reach the end of the road again, and Billy might ask for his mother to be brought back to life. He could also ask for Death to bring back his brother, but that might not be possible since Tommy is likely not dead, which is why Billy can still feel him.
The Witches’ Road has the power to bring someone back to life, just like it happened to Agatha in the comics. She was revived and returned to the living world thanks to the Witches’ Road.
