Kratos in God of War is one of best gaming characters of all time, but Adam Sandler in his place would have made the hilariously great.
It’s surprising that a YouTuber managed to integrate an Adam Sandler film into a Norse mythology video game. When God of War came out in 2018, it was overwhelmingly well-received. Many people made memes about how good of a father Kratos became to his son Atreus and praised the plot.

Kratos’s shout of “Boy” became famous, and it coincided with the arrival of several other well-known father figures, such as Joel from The Last of Us and Din Djarin from The Mandalorian. But it’s unlikely that anyone anticipated Kratos’s strong resemblance to Adam Sandler’s Sonny Koufax from the 1999 film Big Daddy.
Adam Sandler Would Make a Great Kratos in God of War

There are numerous instances of well-known actors being incorporated into video games through incredibly creative editing and astute use of movie dialogue.
While not all of it is humorous, some, like Michael Scott’s portrayal of Captain Shepard in Mass Effect, are genuinely excellent and brilliant. However, who would have thought a humorous personality like Adam Sandler would fill the shoes of a bold character like Kratos?
Adam Sandler played Kratos in a mash-up video of God of War, with a red mark across his face, created by YouTuber eli_handle_b.wav. Here’s a minute of game scenes that are hilariously contrasted with Sonny’s easygoing demeanor in Big Daddy.
Watching Adam Sandler use his trademark “Loop it. You swoop it. You pull” to assist Atreus with his bow, is charming and humorous. Apart from that, the editing of Adam Sandler in God of War is truly amazing. Particularly with the shadow on Sonny as he approaches his home’s door, it simply has an amazing visual appeal.
When Sonny Koufax casually remembers he needs to hold his child’s hands, the exaggerated emotions of the God of War characters work brilliantly, suggesting that the two stories are more similar than some may realize. Seeing this hilarious portrayal, there shouldn’t be any doubt anymore on who is going to play Kratos in the God of War live-action adaptation.

Even though Kratos battles Norse gods in God of War and Sonny Koufax’s greatest challenge in life is getting to McDonald’s in time for breakfast, there are enough parallels between these tales to make a mash-up an interesting idea.
First of all, Atreus and Julian’s mothers, Dylan and Cole Sprouse, are both dead, so the child is initially in the care of a father figure who is unsure of what to do.
Kratos acts aggressively and harshly toward Atreus at the start of God of War. Sonny, on the other hand, wants to be the complete opposite of how his father brought him up and is too relaxed for his own good. However, they try to be more present for their children after learning from their stories what they need in a father.
Naturally, the stories differ quite a bit, but this YouTube mash-up is made funnier by the fact that they share a common basic outline. Sonny would undoubtedly be thrilled to see Adam Sandler offer to injure himself in order to entertain Atreus or teach him how to pronounce specific words. Kratos couldn’t be Julian’s Scuba Steve, even though Sonny could guide Atreus to Jötunheim.
