With Oz extending his influence to Gotham’s corrupt politicians and the Bat-signal shining on the Gotham clouds, The Penguin sets up The Batman – Part II‘s story as a political thriller. The increasingly solid theory that The Batman – Part II‘s main villains will be the Court of Owls supports this idea, as the secret forces pulling the strings behind Gotham’s corruption may be unveiled, and both Batman and the Penguin could discover that the Court of Owls have influenced Gotham’s history since the beginning. However, The Batman – Part II‘s main antagonists might not be the only element The Penguin sets up for the sequel.
Robin Can Flip Oz And Victor’s Tragic Story In The Batman Part 2 Or 3
Batman Could Recruit Robin After The Penguin Killed Victor Aguilar

The Penguin introduced its own version of Robin in Victor Aguilar — a kindhearted teenager who felt lost in Gotham’s crime-ridden streets and found a mentor figure in a powerful Gotham figure. Although the presence of a sidekick was unexpected, The Penguin made Oz and Victor’s mentor-protegée relationship work, thus proving that similar dynamics could apply to Batman and Robin. Victor Aguilar didn’t wear a costume and didn’t know martial arts, but he became Oz Cobb’s right hand while tearing down Gotham City’s criminal hierarchy throughout The Penguin‘s eight episodes.
After the events of The Penguin, it wouldn’t be too difficult to believe that Robert Pattinson’s Batman also recruited his own sidekick. However, Batman could protect Robin and ensure he can balance his double life in a healthy way. When a crisis comes, Batman could do the opposite of what the Penguin did and put his life on the line to save Robin, even if that means letting him hang up the cape and rebuild his life far away from Batman’s crime-fighting crusade.
Robin Is The Perfect Character To Defeat Oz In Matt Reeves’ The Batman Universe
The Batman’s Robin Could Show Oz Why Killing Victor Aguilar Was A Poor Decision

Oz killed the last trustworthy person in his life, which means that collateral damage will no longer be a problem, but also that he must do everything on his own. If The Batman – Part II or The Batman – Part III introduces Robin, Batman’s decision to raise and train his own sidekick could establish a parallel storyline that proves just how misguided Oz’s murder of Victor was. In an ironic turn of events, Robin could be the one who lands the final blow to the Penguin’s criminal operations, and Oz could realize that having Victor around would have helped him.
After Victor’s death, it will be extremely difficult for Oz to find an ally as loyal as Vic.
Unlike all versions of Batman, Colin Farrell’s Oz disregarded Victor Aguilar’s training. Oz simply gave Victor orders and trusted he’d follow them without getting in trouble or risking Oz’s plans. Meanwhile, Batman usually ensures Robin gets enough physical and psychological training, and he fulfills his disciple’s every need. If Oz meets Robin in a future The Batman installment, he could also realize Victor’s wasted potential. After Victor’s death, it will be extremely difficult for Oz to find an ally as loyal as Vic.
Why Victor Aguilar Is The Batman’s Honorary Robin
Matt Reeves’ The Batman Franchise Already Has A Robin

While Rhenzy Feliz’s Victor Aguilar is an original character created for the show, The Penguin clearly drew inspiration from Robin’s comic book history, specifically that of Batman’s second Robin, Jason Todd. Like Jason Todd, Victor Aguilar met a tragic fate at the hands of a Batman villain — but instead of the Joker killing Jason to torment Batman, it’s the Penguin who killed his own sidekick just to save himself the painful experience of losing him in the future. Also like Jason, Victor found a sense of purpose in committing crimes after a previous tragedy scarred him.
If The Batman – Part II or The Batman – Part III introduces the Boy Wonder, Matt Reeves’ DC Elseworlds franchise might present a version that doesn’t resemble The Penguin‘s Victor Aguilar. Jason Todd may be off the table due to his similarities to Victor. Damian Wayne is highly unlikely given Batman’s age and the fact that the DCU’s The Brave and the Bold will center around Batman and his son. Dick Grayson may be reserved for the DCU as well, considering that a Teen Titans movie has been confirmed. Hence, The Batman – Part II‘s Robin could be the independent and often-overlooked Tim Drake, Tim’s successor Stephanie Brown, or the alternate-universe Carrie Kelley.
