The Witcher 4 is in active development and despite CD Projekt Red remaining tight-lipped about Project Polaris so far, one fan has discovered a potential new character.
It has been almost a decade since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released and fans all over the world fell in love with the gruff Geralt of Rivia with a heart of gold.
Since then, CD Projekt Red has released two hit expansions: Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, and Netflix has even jumped on the bandwagon with its very own The Witcher television adaptation.
It is easy to forget that the entire franchise was based on the book series by Andrzej Sapkowski, and despite the video games not following the story to the letter, it is clear that turning it into an RPG series was the best choice all around.
That is why a fourth entry is currently in development.
Currently known as The Witcher 4, or Project Polaris, the next instalment should arrive in the next few years but as it is early days, we don’t know too much about it.
However, according to a recent discovery over on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, we may have our first cast member.
“First character found for “The Witcher 4: Polaris“, the post reads.
“The actor Jake Lampert seems to be playing a character named Branko. Potentially doing mocap for the game next year.”
The source provided takes us to the actor page for Lampert and it also happens to list all of his past and future projects.
As mentioned, he will play the role of Branko and this will be his first video game job, if sources are correct.
So far, Lampert has appeared on a handful of U.K. television shows as well as Star Wars: Andor and the 2019 movie Last Christmas.
As it stands, there is no established character in The Witcher universe with the name Branko so it remains to be seen how he will be incorporated into the story.
Either way, fans seemingly think Lampert is perfect for the role.
“This dude looks like a Witcher character”, the top comment reads.
