Kristen Bell doesn’t shy away from bringing up heavy topics in front of her daughters

Recently, Kristen Bell shared about her parenting methods and revealed that she doesn’t shy away from addressing the topics, including s*x and drugs with her daughters. In the interview with Real Simple, the actress also opened up that both of their daughters are aware of their father’s addiction to drugs and alcohol and is currently recovering by visiting AA meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She stated,

“I talk to my kids about drugs and the fact that their daddy is an addict and he’s in recovery, and we talk about s*x. There are all these ‘hard topics’ that don’t have to be if you give the person on the other end your vulnerability and a little bit of credit.”

And even though some may consider the topics as Taboo, the actress shared her distaste for the term and stated that every concept needs to be discussed and nothing should be off the table. Kristen Bell also shared her main goal behind using several parenting techniques with her daughters.

Kristen Bell reveals the reasoning behind her parenting methods

The Good Place actress revealed that the motives behind their parenting techniques are to teach their daughters about different life skills. Apart from everything that she wants her children to learn, Kristen Bell stressed the importance of making amends. The actress shared that making amends and apologizing is one of the most important things in her family and would want her daughters to follow the same. She stated,

“Making amends and apologizing is an important thing in our family because humans leave carnage wherever they go. If there’s one thing I want to teach my kids, it’s to make amends, and that it’s for themselves, so they can like who’s in the mirror a little bit more.”
