Insider reveals Rudy Pankow and Madison Bailey’s alleged stance on the whole fiasco regarding body double rumors.
Given their onscreen chemistry, fans of Outer Banks stars Rudy Pankow and Madison Bailey often shipped the duo together in the real world, which ended up taking a toxic turn after their loved ones got involved. While the two apparently started on a good note at the beginning, per reports, the two became distant as the series progressed.

This further contributed to the rumor that the two actors allegedly used body doubles for one particular scene and the suspicious cuts in it only elevated this speculation. But per insiders, the two actors are completely against this rumor.

While their alleged off-screen drama has garnered major traction in recent months, which exploded after a cast dinner, the actors are reportedly against the rumors of their involvement with body doubles in one scene. Considering the scene in question, in which Kiara rests her head on JJ’s shoulder, never displays the two actors together, many speculated that the two might’ve refused to work together.
However, one insider told Life & Style this wasn’t the case, claiming both Rudy Pankow and Madison Bailey denied these claims, adding that it’s completely baseless.
They are both adamant that the rumors about them having body doubles because they refused to shoot together is completely off base. That hasn’t stopped the rumors from flying around, especially because the way certain scenes were edited, it really does seem suspect. It wouldn’t be the first time that trick was used for two costars that weren’t getting along, but Rudy and Madison one hundred percent deny it.
It’s not uncommon for actors, who aren’t on the same page to refuse to shoot together, with one example being Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson’s alleged feud, who apparently refused to film together on The Fate of the Furious. But while it can’t be said for certain if Pankow and Bailey did in fact shoot the scene together, per reports, the latter found it difficult to bid goodbye to her onscreen partner.

Considering the fourth season marks Pankow’s character’s end in the series, one source shared that his co-star found the goodbye extremely hard, adding “No one seems happy about him leaving”. Irrespective of their alleged feud, the source claimed Bailey was shaken up by the prospect of saying goodbye to Pankow, which is reasonable given their years-long history in the show.
Madison seemed very broken up when it was time to say goodbye to Rudy. Regardless of what drama went on between them, they shared a very special moment in time, and at one point they were very close, so to have him leaving is shaking her up and the rest of the cast.
While things aren’t completely clear about their alleged drama, per the source, the producers might find a creative way to bring Pankow back, but as for now, nothing can be said for certain.
