Lara Croft is about to embark on yet another adventure but this time, it is not in the way you would first expect.

It has been almost 30 years since Lara Croft made her debut with the start of the Tomb Raider franchise, and since then, she has gone on to become one of the most recognisable fictional characters of all time.

From multiple television shows and movies, to books and games, the world is mad about Lara Croft so it is perhaps no wonder that fans are lining up to experience her next big adventure.

Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos is an upcoming board-game with its Kickstarter expected to launch in May 2025.

Created by Iconiq Studios, the board-game will feature all the must-haves of a Lara Croft-esque adventure such as exploration, puzzles and combat and it will be up to players to guide the adventurer to the island of Kairos.

Here, you will have to survive the inhospitable land as you search for an artifact said to “hold the reins of time” before the dreaded Natla Technologies get there first.

No pressure.

There are also two modes that you can try out: Adventure Book Mode and Campaign Mode.

Adventure Book Mode is more of a story-driven experience which will guide players through a series of different scenarios. Missions can last anywhere between 20 and 60 minutes, and there are various ones to undertake.

On the other hand, Campaign Mode is a lot longer (coming in at around three hours) and features a “vast, free-roaming experience on an expansive island map”.

Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos is designed to play with friends – but can also be played solo – and together, you can use the crafting system to make weapons, outfits and powerful abilities.

Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos kicks off its Kickstarter campaign in May 2025 so keep an eye out if you want to back the exciting project.
