Allison killed Reginald before he could finish his timeline and pulled the lever, resulting in a timeline where Reginald and his wife are alive, Allison got her daughter and her 1960s husband, Sloane disappeared, and the Hargreeves and Lila no longer have powers. In addition to that, each of the Hargreeves has a couple of personal issues to address and solve in The Umbrella Academy season 4, including Lila and Diego, the only couple who survived season 3’s apocalypse and who seem to be about to take a huge step in their relationship… but that will complicate their next mission.
The Umbrella Academy’s Lila Poster Teases She & Diego Became Parents, After All
Lila’s Character Poster Brought Some Interesting Reveals
At the end of The Umbrella Academy season 3, Lila and Diego reconciled and she revealed she was pregnant, and this time it was for real.
Lila was introduced in The Umbrella Academy season 2, where she was revealed to be one of the 43 children born on October 1, 1989, at the same time to women who weren’t pregnant when the day started. Lila was adopted by The Handler after killing her parents, and she helped her develop her powers, which consist of mirroring those of others. Lila got into a complex and not exactly healthy relationship with Diego, and in season 3, she returned with Stan, a 12-year-old boy she told Diego was their son, but she was just messing with him.
At the end of The Umbrella Academy season 3, Lila and Diego reconciled and she revealed she was pregnant, and this time it was for real. However, the loss of their powers in the timeline reset made many viewers question if Lila was still pregnant or not, and the first teaser trailer for The Umbrella Academy season 4 showed Diego helping a young girl at a kids’ party, but Lila wasn’t around. This has made viewers believe this might be Diego’s daughter but not Lila’s, but Lila’s season 4 character poster seems to be pointing in the opposite direction.
Lila is shown sitting on a bench at a subway station next to an open package with baby bottles, implying that the timeline reset didn’t affect her pregnancy and that she and Diego became parents between seasons 3 and 4 (whether that girl in the trailer is their daughter or not is to be seen), though it’s unclear if they stayed together.
Why Having A Child Will Complicate Lila & Diego’s Mission In The Umbrella Academy Season 4
It’s Not The Best Time For Diego & Lila To Become Parents
Diego and Lila will have another life to protect and might be forced to make a difficult and potentially heartbreaking decision if they are given a chance to return to their timeline.
Lila and Diego having a child wouldn’t be a problem if they were in their right timeline. It has been implied by showrunner Steve Blackman that Reginald’s timeline in The Umbrella Academy season 4 is unfinished and there will be strange things happening as a result of this. On top of that, a new apocalypse has been teased, and the Hargreeves might find a way to return to their rightful place in the multiverse, but all this will be a lot more complicated for Diego and Lila if they’re parents.
Diego and Lila will have another life to protect and might be forced to make a difficult and potentially heartbreaking decision if they are given a chance to return to their timeline. When it comes to the apocalypse, Diego and Lila could end up mirroring Allison’s situation in season 1, in which she was unable to save her daughter from the first apocalypse. It’s to be seen how The Umbrella Academy will handle Lila and Diego being parents or if Lila is once again pretending and her pregnancy disappeared along with her powers.
