Bethesda has officially released The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered shortly after leaks confirmed that the game is almost ready. In its official reveal video, Bethesda showcased the brand new visuals and gameplay features. The game was remastered with Virtuous using Unreal Engine 5.
2006’s The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is often labeled as one of the best games in the series. In the reveal video for Bethesda Game Studios’ The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Matt Carofano, the Studio Art Director, and Todd Howard, Studio Head and Creative Director, explained the significance of Oblivion and what it means to the studio.
During the conversation, Carofano mentioned how popular Oblivion was when it was initially revealed, adding that it was a “special moment” for many to experience the game for the first time. Howard then revealed the simple goal of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered,
Every time we think about Oblivion, it’s what if we could give that moment to everybody again?
The remaster is special because it takes a great game like Oblivion to the next level with its stunning visuals and improved mechanics. The game played a key role in shaping the Elder Scrolls franchise, and Howard wishes that players get to experience that special moment once again, nearly two decades later. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is officially out on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, something that leaks already confirmed last week. The standard version of the game includes the base game, Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine story expansions, and additional downloadable content: Fighter’s Stronghold, Spell Tomes, Vile Lair, Mehrune’s Razor, The Thieves Den, Wizard’s Tower, The Orrery, and Horse Armor Pack.
The game is priced at $49.99 across all platforms. However, PC and Xbox Series X/S users have an advantage. The standard version has been released on Xbox Game Pass, allowing subscribed players to experience the game on day one.
The Deluxe Edition, which costs $59.99, features all the things in the standard edition plus new quests for unique digital Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon Armor, Weapons, and Horse Armor Sets, as well as a Digital Artbook and Soundtrack App.
