The news came on May 7, after Netflix released its cast list for the Addams Family spin-off series’ second season, which excluded Hynes White – and others – from the upcoming production. According to The Independent, Netflix dropped Hynes White, one of the main actors in the first series, following allegations of sexual misconduct made against the star last year. He denies any wrongdoing.
Jamie McShane and Naomi J. Ogawa, who played the characters of Donovan Galpin and Yoko Tanaka respectively, will also not be reprising their roles, according to the source.

In a 2022 interview with the Toronto Star, he said, “I think I’m going to be doing it [acting] for a long, long time, whether it’s indie movies that nobody watches or this kind of thing,” before adding, “I’m just happy to do it, whatever environment. That’s what I’m in it for, is playing pretend, you know?”
Hynes White also got candid when chatting with Icon Magazine, which he was on the cover of last October. “What I do is immerse myself in the situation presented to me. From there, I act and speak as I really would if I were that character, or if I were really experiencing that situation. I think that’s why I give the impression of being natural in my acting style. It’s because ultimately it’s me,” he shared.

Last January, a user on X claimed that Hynes White had assaulted her at a party he hosted in Toronto in a since-deleted tweet, as reported by Variety. The user added that he had allegedly assaulted other women.
In June 2023, Hynes White addressed the allegations and denied any wrongdoing. “Earlier this year, somebody I’ve never met started a campaign of misinformation about me online. Because of this, my family has been doxxed, and my friends have received death threats,” he wrote in an Instagram story at the time, per Variety.
“Underage photos of me were used, and examples of me acting in character were presented as hateful. My friend Jane was falsely portrayed as a victim, and her attempts to set the record straight have been ignored. She gave me permission to include her in this message.” He continued, adding that the “rumours are false” and that “these are the kind of baseless, harmful claims that can create mistrust toward victims”.
