“Yet people want to talk about my p**is”: Chris Pine Wasn’t Happy Fans Were More Interested in His Junk Over the R-rated Violence in $120M Movie

Chris Pine wasn’t thrilled when fans obsessed over his brief full-frontal scene in a $120M action flick instead of the R-rated violence.

Chris Pine had a laugh but wasn’t exactly thrilled when fans focused more on that scene in one flick than the gritty, R-rated action. The $120M epic delivered brutal battles, but what grabbed the internet’s attention? Pine’s brief full-frontal moment. Despite the blood and gore, fans zeroed in on his unexpected cameo.

Pine, ever the good sport, joked about the attention but admitted he wished people had talked more about the movie’s intense storytelling and less about his “junk.” It’s safe to say this flick gave audiences more than they bargained for—and Pine, well, he kept it classy.

Chris Pine’s Full-Frontal Scene in Outlaw King Stole the Spotlight Over Brutal Battles

Chris Pine wasn’t exactly thrilled when his full-frontal moment in Outlaw King grabbed more attention than the brutal battles in the $120M epic. Pine opened up during a 2018 press tour for the Netflix original. Despite the film’s intense focus on the Scottish Wars of Independence, audiences zeroed in on the actor’s brief n*de scene, sparking buzz that left him baffled.

There’s so much beheading in this, and yet people want to talk about my p**is… I think that says something about our society, where people can get disemboweled, but it’s the man’s junk that is of interest.

Set during the 1300s, Outlaw King followed Pine as Robert Bruce, the legendary Scottish king who fought for independence from England. Amid the rebellions and battles, there’s one moment where Pine’s character emerges n**ed from a lake—an artistic choice the actor defended.

Pine explained that showing the primal, animalistic side of a future king added depth to the character. But instead of critiquing the beheadings and chaos, fans were far more interested in the other reveal. He told The Hollywood Reporter:

I wouldn’t obviously do it if I didn’t feel it was important. We’re just base animals. I thought it was very important to see this man who’s going to have power be an animal.

Pine’s scene was a far cry from Hollywood’s use of prosthetics in similar moments—like Mark Wahlberg in Boogie Nights. But, for Pine, the reaction seemed to reflect something deeper about society. Though he handled the attention like a pro, there’s no denying Outlaw King gave people more than just medieval sword fights. And it turns out, Pine’s “junk” stole the show.
