Superhero films are undoubtedly expensive, as we all know. However, when you look at those figures, you typically assume that the majority of the money goes to the authors, directors, actors, and the computer-generated imagery (CGI) department, particularly the latter, as these films rely more on CGI than anything else these days.

However, the expense of some of the costumes will actually surprise you! Indeed, we are aware that some of the outfits were created or improved with computer-generated imagery, but some were truly planned and constructed by hand, and wow, those may be costly!

The most recent example we have for this is the Spider-Man suit worn by Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Far From Home, which does look amazing, we cannot deny it, but for a relatively simple spandex suit, the cost is – incredible! Looking back at the history of Spider-Man suits, they’ve always been great; the authenticity was there, and so was the quality, but we assume that the spandex suits were not that expensive to make in the case of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. But, it seems that the most recent Spider-Man is an exception.

Namely, based on the information we have, Tom Holland’s suit from Spider-Man: Far From Home cost an amazing $130,000 to make, which seems a lot for a “mere spandex suit,” despite the fact that it is visually impressive and that it looks great on Holland.

We don’t know why the suit cost that much, but knowing the budget of the movie, as well as the fact that Spider-Man is truly important as a character, we can say that it paid off and that the MCU made a good decision to invest so much money in such an important piece of the lore. And we can agree that the price is proportional to the quality of the final product.
