One half of the original bromance is returning to The Voice for season 27. Indeed, Adam Levine is reclaiming his big red chair after a 10-season absence (this time sans Blake Shelton.) The Maroon 5 frontman joins defending champion Michael Bublé, nine-time coach John Legend, and newcomer Kelsea Ballerini. Chemistry between the coaches is as essential to the show’s success as its contestants. Fortunately, this latest batch seems to be finding their stride together—if this performance of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” is any indication.

“Best Coach Combo Ever:” ‘The Voice’ Fans Go Crazy For Latest Promo
In a season 27 promo that dropped Friday (Jan. 31), Adam Levine sports a new bleach blonde look as he gathers around the piano with his fellow coaches. The three-time GRAMMY winner gets things going with the first verse of Elton John’s 1972 single “Tiny Dancer:” Blue jean baby, L.A. lady / Seamstress for the band.

His fellow coaches join in on the next verse: Pretty-eyed, pirate smile / You’ll marry a music man.
“Tiny Dancer” marked the first performance together for this batch of coaches on The Voice. Furthermore, it was also Ballerini’s first coach performance ever. “The fact that we all get to just sit around a piano and stare lovingly into each other’s eyes and admire and respect each other?” she told NBC. “C’mon, it’s bucket list. I’m excited, I’m not gonna lie.”
Viewers are excited, too. “Best Coach combo ever,” one YouTube user commented.
Additionally, another fan raved, “Forget the contestants. I can just listen to the judges! Fabulous performance. Made me smile. Can’t wait for the new season with judges like the four of them.”
Will Adam Levine Find a New Bromance Partner?
Initially, many viewers tuned into The Voice for the playful banter and (occasionally) friendly rivalry between Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Levine left the show in 2019 after 16 seasons. Subsequently, Shelton followed four years later, exiting after season 23.
Levine returns to the show without Blake Shelton for the first time, and some viewers are hoping to see the “One More Night” singer strike up a fresh bromance. However, Levine is adamant that no one can fill his BFF’s cowboy boots.
“No, no, definitely not. There’s no replacing [Shelton],” he told People. “The thing that happened with Blake and I, it was so organic, and it was based on our friendship.”
The Voice season 27 premieres Monday, Feb. 3, at 8 p.m. Eastern on NBC.
