Warhammer 40k’s introduction of female Adeptus Custodes shocked the community, but the company has more unrevealed elements on the horizon.
There’s no doubt that the universe of Warhammer 40K is a cornerstone of science fiction, one of the most popular miniature wargames out there. It is a massively expanded story with several hundred books thrashing out the places, people, and conflicts among characters.

While fans know a lot about the huge range of creatures and characters, for outsiders, the focus is primarily on Space Marines. However, one of the most exciting characters in the game, Adeptus Custodes.
Recently, Games Workshop surprised gamers with a shocking Custodian revelation, but that’s the beginning of plans by the company for the lore expansion.

In the Warhammer 40k universe, the Adeptus Custodes, an elite cadre of genetically modified warriors, have long been portrayed as an all-male force. However, in the 10th edition codex, Games Workshop brought in a canonically female member of the Custodes, which sparked a heated debate among gamers.
Some fans argued that with this sudden change, the studio had retconned the lore by bringing female Custodians. They pointed toward previous codices and statements that implied an all-made composition.
Recently, Games Workshop announced that it brought in a brand-new female Adeptus Custodes into the franchise’s lore as part of the The Tithes animated series. The company acknowledged the controversies surrounding the introduction of female customers and stated that it’s one of the many things that have never been explored.
This fact came as a real surprise to many, since it wasn’t something previously explored. That, in and of itself, isn’t a particularly unusual thing for Warhammer 40,000 and its lore; there are simply loads of things the Warhammer Studios have never expressly stated, whether that’s ruling them in or out.
Despite the game’s vast lore, several aspects are still unclear or remain deliberately vague. For instance, we still don’t know about the fate of the Emperor, whether or not he’ll ever return to power and the future of humanity’s dominance.
The origins of Chaos Gods and the full extent of their influence remain shrouded in mystery. Even the fate of missing Primarchs from the Lost Legions, as well as the motive of Necros and Harlequins, continue to spark debates.
It’s going to be interesting how Games Workshop fleshes out these aspects of the lore and touches upon things we’ve heard about before.
Games Workshop Fumbled Space Marine 2 Launch

While Games Workshop has been actively developing the Warhammer 40k franchise, it seems like Saber Interactive has forgotten to do the same for the latest game, Space Marine 2. The title is finally out in Early Access, but just like all modern titles, it’s plagued by various issues.
Gamers on Steam have reported tons of issues, ranging from FPS drops to infinite loading screens. Even though Space Marine 2 is modest when it comes to system requirements, it still demands strong processor power because of the endless number of enemies it generates.
That’s not all; the game’s reliance on Epic Online Services and a rather exhaustive end-user license agreement has also caused privacy concerns among gamers. The title installs Epic Online Services without even informing players.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that with the upcoming updates, the Games Workshop will finally address these issues. Otherwise, the future isn’t looking too bright for the game.
With that said, are you enjoying Space Marine 2? If so, let us know in the comments below.
