Nicki Minaj has announced the release date for the deluxe edition of her chart-topping 2023 album, Pink Friday 2.

Minaj released two extended editions of PF2 earlier this year, then announced plans for an official deluxe over the summer. But weeks later, she decided to scrap the idea and turn it into a whole new album instead.

It seems she’s gone back to her original plan, however, and revealed in a post to X this week that Pink Friday 2 – The Hiatus will arrive on December 13.

“The final deluxe installment,” she wrote. “On the 1 year Anniversary of PF2.”

The mention of hiatus in the title also seems to speak to Minaj telling fans in October that she was planning to take a break following the conclusion of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. She later walked the announcement back and denied any hiatus, but much like now doing a deluxe, it’s possible she’s also reverting to the original plan on that as well.

Nicki Minaj had planned to release the Pink Friday 2 deluxe, dubbed Gag City Reloaded, on September 13.

She also previously teased a collaboration with the late Juice WRLD, asking fans on Instagram Live: “So, the question is do you guys think I should put the Juice WRLD song on the deluxe? It would be incredible for me I think to have Juice WRLD on this album.

“Because before he passed, that’s what we were talking about. He recorded a bunch of stuff when he was in my studio but I don’t like to exploit people and people’s deaths and stuff like that.”

However, Nicki later indicated that the Pink Friday 2 deluxe would only feature artists signed to her record label Heavy On It.

It’s unclear if that still applies to Pink Friday 2 – The Hiatus.

As for the hiatus, Minaj told fans on her Stationhead radio show after the final show on her second tour leg in October: “I am doing a hiatus. But I have the Vogue thing, which I’m very proud and honored to do, and a couple things and then I’ll be taking a little moment to reflect.”

But once her fan pages began reporting the break, she swiftly shut the reports down.

“Ain’t going no mthfkn where. Kiss my ass & HIATUS,” she wrote with laughing emojis. “LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. We don’t announce the hiatus Barbz. Crack is whack. We don’t do that. Dem love chat dem no run dem block! Just relax & let what will be…be *dramatic cinematic music begins*”
