Former The Mandalorian actress Gina Carano shredded The Walt Disney Company in response to a post from Mark Ruffalo comparing the United States of America to Nazi Germany.
Ruffalo appeared to react to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in a 6-3 decision that former presidents “have some immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts during his tenure in office.”
He did not take the ruling well and seemingly compared the United States to Nazi Germany. He posted on X, “… Just for the record. History is repeating itself.”
Carano responded to Ruffalo writing on X, “Double standards on full display. It’s a constant and obvious elephant in the room in Hollywood. There is example after example, such as Mark Ruffalos below that prove this. Whom btw, I believe should have the right to express himself without getting fired, although I cringe at most all of his political posts. He is an actor, but he is a human being passionately engaging in something that he feels strongly about. It must be a nice feeling to express yourself so freely.”
She added, “Not everyone in this country has that privilege without having everything that they love taken from them. Do we wonder why he has that privilege and I did not? The answers are in my case.”
Carano continued, “I know people would prefer basketball players to just dribble or actors to just act, but when you’re in a world where lives are being destroyed and lost, all around you, how does any human being become forced to stay silent when death by injustice surrounds them.”
“Disney [and] Lucasfilm maliciously twisted the narrative of a meme I posted which was encouraging neighbors NOT to demonize their neighbors or history could repeat itself. They twisted that meme into saying that I was denigrating people off of their cultural and religious beliefs. It was suggested that I was comparing Republicans to the Jewish people in the holocaust, something that I never said or posted,” she asserted.
Carano then declared, ” I called no one a Nazi, I did not deny the holocaust. Read that last sentence again, I NEVER did this, yet I was smeared as an antisemite. That doesn’t seem to happen to a certain group of people that choose to use these comparisons as well, why is that? The rules for thee and not for me group. So what are the rules exactly?”
“This lie was fed to you by the corrupt media based off a statement from Disney/Lucasfilm who have since doubled down on their slander towards me. Their narrative took on a life of its own while my own life and career were tossed aside,” she wrote.
The media repeated and repeated this lie until it became an untruthful ‘fact’ to many, who aren’t the best at doing their own research, who instead listen to fake news and what we’ve seen ‘journalism’ digress into, spare a very few brilliant journalists,” Carano noted.
Next, she stated, “A demoralized society becomes hungry for propaganda, willing to give up their rights and the rights of others, it causes division and drives societies into a mob mentality, picking on a group of people, turning neighbor against neighbor. It is one of the largest reasons the gates were opened for the Nazis to come into power in the first place. This way of doing things cannot be what we base condemning and destroying peoples livelihoods and careers off of.”
“The media manipulates the masses so easily based on their affiliations with large corporations and powerful people who signal and encourage them who to destroy,” she noted.
From there, Carano provided an update on her lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company, “Where my case stands as of now, we are patiently waiting with respect to the judge’s ruling on whether she will grant or deny Disney/Lucasfilm to dismiss the case that I have brought against them.”
“My hope is that my case brings balance back to a very broken industry,” she shared. “My case is not just for people who think exactly like me but for everyone who will be and has been placed in this position. Let’s restore the balance, something that I believe the majority of the industry desires, just as I believe the majority of our beautiful country desires as well.”
“We can have conversations where we don’t agree, in fact we just might learn something from each other through more conversations. Conversation over cancellation, like I’ve said from the beginning,” Carano concluded.
Double standards on full display. It’s a constant and obvious elephant in the room in Hollywood.

Carano sued The Walt Disney Company in February this year after she was fired in February 2021 via a Lucasfilm spokesman who informed multiple media outlets, “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future.”
“Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable,” the spokesman concluded.
The statement from the spokesman came after Carano shared a post from warriorpriestgympodcast to her Instagram stories that read, “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children.”
The post then shares a quote which reads, “Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”
Along with this text it included an image of a woman in undress being chased by youths with blunt objects.
The lawsuit specifically accuses The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm of “wrongful discharge,” “wrongful discharge and refusal to hire,” and “sex discrimination.”
Carano is asking for “preliminary and permanent injunctive relief requiring Defendants to reinstate Carano to her prior position with no loss of pay or benefits; A judgement declaring that Defendants’ termination of Carano’s employment was unlawful and in violation of California law; Compensatory damages, including but not limited to loss of pay from the date of termination to the date of reinstatement, in an amount to be determined at trial, but exceeding $75,000; Compensatory damages for loss of future employment, including but not limited to the promised role in Rangers of the New Republic, in an amount to be determined at trial; Emotional distress damages, in an amount to be determined at trial; Punitive damages, in an amount to be determined at trial; Reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs; and Such other and further relief as the Court may deem just and proper.”
U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett appeared to side with Carano and her lawyers against The Walt Disney Company who have attempted to dismiss the case.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Judge Garnett was unconvinced by Disney’s arguments, “I’m not convinced there are no disputed facts.”
The outlet also reported that Judge Garnett appeared to favor an argument from Carano’s lawyer Gene Schaerr. Schaerr argued, “Disney’s First Amendment defense cannot allow it to shortcircuit the normal litigation process.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Judge Garnett reacted to this argument stating, “I don’t necessarily disagree with you.”
The Hollywood Reporter’s Winston Cho even noted, “A federal judge has signaled that Gina Carano‘s lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm over her termination from The Mandalorian will be allowed to proceed as the court considers whether the First Amendment allows private companies to sever ties with employees who publicly clash with their values.”
