Brad Pitt is one of the pioneers of modern cinema as far as Hollywood and acting are concerned. While his looks and physicality seem to have certainly played a hand in his popularity, it is really his acting genius that has solidified him as an A-list Hollywood actor.

Brad Pitt has played a variety of roles ever since he first stepped into the land of acting. From playing the hunk and hero Achilles in 2004’s Troy to his iconic Tyler Durden in Fight Club, there have been several roles of his that fans and critics have appreciated and loved.
While even at the age of 60 he continues to entertain and lead narratives with his impeccable genius, Pitt remains grounded and grateful to one movie from way back in 1991 that apparently solidified his career in Hollywood. In an interview with IGV (via YouTube) the actor was asked which movie changed his career and he replied,
“Certainly it was Ridley and Geena bringing me into Thelma and Louise. That was my first shot in the big leagues.”
Thelma and Louise is a Ridley Scott film that only grossed about $45 million worldwide (via The Numbers), yet the movie gave Pitt the much-needed break he had been waiting for. Starring as the charming and mysterious cowboy JD, the role put Pitt on the map and helped showcase his talents and skills to the world.
Brad Pitt is Also Thankful to Ridley Scott and David Fincher
Brad Pitt might be an A-lister now but he certainly has not forgotten his roots. The charming actor is now one of the most sought-after actors in the world and movies like 12 Years a Slave and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood have only added to his fame, yet the actor still hails Ridley Scott and David Fincher for helping him gain popularity.
While he hailed Ridley Scott for giving him his breakthrough role in the Oscar-winning Thelma & Louise, he hailed David Fincher for propelling him further into the realms of the film industry. In an interview with IGC, the actor stated,
“Then certainly meeting David Fincher… that was what I was always hoping it would be and that set me off in a really really good direction.”
Well, meeting with Fincher was certainly pivotal for Pitt. Not only did Fincher’s movies like Se7en, Fight Club, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button solidify his position as a formidable actor but also paved the way for other revered roles to come along his way.
