Britney Spears’ parents ‘fear’ star ‘could die’ after recent behavior as dad Jamie ‘may intervene’ to help daughter

BRITNEY Spears has sparked concern over her mental health in recent months and The U.S. Sun has exclusively learned her parents may intervene.

Despite Britney’s difficult relationship with her parents – father, Jamie, 71, and mother, Lynne, 69 – they are still extremely concerned over her mental health, a source claims.

According to the insider, Britney shows signs of instability that made Jamie decide to take control of her life through her conservatorship starting in 2008.

Jamie fears she may be on a downward mental health spiral and “could even die,” per the Spears family insider.

Britney’s dad has told friends he is terrified his “baby girl will become sick again.”

Her mother and father “worry that her desire to feel free and do as she pleases leads her to choices where she… or be led by others into problematic situations.

“It is no secret that Britney has mental health issues [because] it was discussed openly in her court hearings and paperwork by her and conservators.

“Then she was on a stable controlled system in place of medication and therapy, but now that has ended,” the source shared.

TENSE RELATIONS

Britney’s 13-year conservatorship ended in 2021.

“There are clear worries from Jamie’s side that he sees similarities to how Britney was back in 2007 and 2008,” the insider continued.

“He knows that he has been portrayed as the bad guy by his daughter and the Free Britney movement, but he maintains that his actions saved her life.

“He worries that he may have to try and take a similar step again because her mental welfare seems to be spiraling.

“Jamie has made it clear he sees signs that Britney is getting sick again, but his hands are tied.

“In his eyes, he fought so hard to save her from ending up dead and now he worries that she is not doing well again,” the insider revealed.

CONSERVATORSHIP STRUGGLES

“A key factor in this recent problem is that Britney became very riled and forlorn over losing her court case to her father over trying to get him to cover court costs in the conservatorship,” the source shared.

“That struggle between them had been problematic for years.

“Britney feels [Jamie] effectively stole money from her while running the estate as her conservator for 13 years,” the insider stated.

Britney claimed Jamie stole $36million from her estate throughout the conservatorship.

When they settled the dispute in April 2024, Britney was ordered to pay her dad’s legal bills worth more than $2million.

“So losing that case really p****d her off,” the insider continued.

“Britney, in truth, lost that case because her dad was backed by the courts.

“The conservatorship was set up through The [Los Angeles] Supreme Court, which meant spending and business fees were effectively checked and verified by the judges on the case over the years.

“At the same time Britney still then endures guilt and remorse at knowing she has such strained and turbulent relationships with her parents.”

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Britney and Jamie’s reps for comment.

BRITNEY’S HEALTH

Jamie raised concerns about his daughter’s long-term mental health during the end of the conservatorship.

Through his lawyer, Vivien Thoreen, Jamie wrote a motion to the judge defending his choices for handling Britney’s life amid her mental health struggles.

“If the public knew all the facts of Ms. Spears’ personal life, not only her highs but also her lows, all of the addiction and mental health issues that she has struggled with, and all of the challenges of the Conservatorship, they would praise Mr. Spears for the job he has done, not vilify him,” Jamie’s lawyer stated in a past public announcement.

“But the public does not know all the facts, and they have no right to know, so there will be no public redemption for Mr. Spears.

“The Conservatorship has provided Ms. Spears with a structure to help her navigate the daily challenges of her personal life, family matters, medical issues, and career.

“By nature, the structure includes safeguards to protect the Conservatee from self-harm or harm from others.

“It is not surprising that Ms. Spears has often felt constrained or subject to excessive supervision.

“But, at least for the greater part of the past thirteen years, the Conservatorship has worked as intended.

“There is no doubt that the Conservatorship saved Ms. Spears from disaster, supported her when she needed it the most, protected her and her reputation from harm, and facilitated the restoration of her career,” Jamie’s legal team concluded.

IS BRIT OKAY?

In the early hours of May 2, 2024, Britney received medical attention for an injury after a reported fight with her romantic interest Paul Soliz.

“A 911 call was received at 12:42 AM reported 1 injured female,” the Los Angeles Fire Department told The U.S. Sun.

“No specifics regarding the injury were provided.

“One paramedic was dispatched.

“No one was hospitalized [and] there were no police.

“The LAFD left at 1:17 AM,” the statement concluded, adding there were no additional people in the vehicle with them.

Several witnesses claimed Britney appeared unsteady at the scene at Chateau Marmont.

She was allegedly in a screaming fit with her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Paul.

Photos from the scene showed Britney wearing her underwear, wrapped in a blanket and clutching a pillow to her chest.

The recent incident has sparked fresh concern over the star’s mental health.
