Carrie Underwood’s FIERCE Warning to American Idol Cheaters—Baseball Bat Ready to Swing! 😡🎤

Just a few weeks ago, American Idol returned for season 23. But outside of bringing in a new group of aspiring artists, judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan welcomed back Carrie Underwood. Starting her career on the show, it seemed only fitting that she would eventually make her way back. And so far, fans praised how she approached the audition process and helped the contestants find their voices. And wanting to promote the new season, Underwood recently sent a stern warning that was also a throwback to her hit song “Before He Cheats.”

Lyrics From 3 Kris Kristofferson Songs That Hit Harder Than Poetry

Shortly after winning American Idol, Underwood jumped into the recording studio to create her debut album Some Hearts. Packed with songs, “Before He Cheats” became an instant hit. Surrounding the dangers of cheating on the wrong woman, the singer showed what could happen. Completely destroying the man’s favorite truck, Underwood posted a picture of herself standing in front of a truck with a baseball bat in hand.

Although a striking photo of the singer, she focused on American Idol. She wrote in the caption, “Better not cheat on American Idol tonight!” Wanting fans to not miss a new episode, many loved how Underwood promoted the show while also shining a light on her own past.

Carrie Underwood Shocked By Talent Of ‘American Idol’ Contestants

Appearing to fit right in with the current lineup of judges, Underwood also opened up about what it was like to return to American Idol. Having only performed on the show as a contestant, the singer worried about offering feedback without sounding mean. “I was nervous coming in because it’s it’s a different ballgame, you know, and sitting on the other side of the table, more than anything, I want to help all of these people coming through, and help them become better performers and live their dreams.”

With Underwood knowing how powerful words could be, she insisted, “I want to be constructive and tell them things they can work on, but then you’re like, am I coming across mean, or like how is it gonna turn out, that I’m really happy getting to watch the first little bits of it.”

While worried about how she would come across to fans and contestants, Underwood quickly learned the insane amount of talent the show brought. “There’s so much talent. It’s kind of insane how gifted some of these people are.”

Don’t miss a new episode of American Idol, airing Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and available to stream on Hulu.
