TALK about Carrie Underwood’s inauguration performance has allegedly been ‘forbidden’ on the ‘tense’ American Idol set, a source exclusively told The U.S. Sun.
Following a massive technical mishap during Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration, the country star is still remaining tight-lipped on her performance – something that’s seemingly translated onto set.

A source claimed that while Carrie, 41, has been “extremely polite” to American Idol staffers, she has been “more distant” since joining the judging panel.
“Everyone knows Lionel and Luke better, they have been here longer so they are closer with the crew.
“Carrie has been very kind to everyone on set but she does seem more reserved,” the insider said.
The source then claimed that crew members on set have been told “not bring up the inauguration under any circumstances” – including directly asking Carrie about it.
However, the insider maintained that the order did not come from Carrie herself and it was an attempt to keep the “tense” set as “lighthearted” as possible.
“It’s not just the inauguration. It’s Hollywood week which is a lot of moving parts. The production team has to go film in Hawaii next week, so that can be stressful.
“All these things take a toll so producers want to do everything they can to make sure every person on the team feels comfortable and supported,” they added.
Yesterday, The U.S. Sun revealed that Carrie had been spotted for the first time since performing at the inauguration as she filmed her first season as judge on American Idol.

Leading up to the March 9th premiere on ABC, the trio of judges are back in Los Angeles this week to film the show’s famous Hollywood round.
The Before He Cheats singer joined fellow superstars Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan as the panelists for season 23.
The three music icons met up on Monday for filming at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown LA for Idol’s Showstoppers round, a source told The U.S. Sun.
It marked the first time Carrie, who has also been quiet online, has been seen since performing at the inauguration.

The filming day is also the first time Carrie, along with the season 23 contestants, filmed in front of a live audience.
According to an insider, the CMA winner got enthusiastically introduced by an announcer as she walked on stage.
She dazzled in a sequin pink blazer dress with matching shoes and her signature voluminous blonde hair as Lionel, 75, opened up his arms to welcome her to the judging panel.
As she walked out, she was met with a roar of applause and cheers from the studio audience who continued to chant her name.
Despite the warm welcome, a source claimed that Carrie seemed “tense” and “serious” throughout the duration of the time she was judging.
Carrie Underwood’s Family
The American Idol winner had relationships with Chace Crawford and Tony Romo but she ultimately walked down the aisle with Mike Fisher.
Mike is a Canadian retired hockey player from Peterborough, Ontario.
In October 1999, Fisher made his NHL debut with the Ottawa Senators.
He played for the Senators until he was traded to the Nashville Predators.
One of the reasons he agreed to the trade was so he could be close to his wife Carrie.
On December 20, 2009, Carrie and her former hockey captain hubby announced their engagement.
On July 10, 2010, Carrie Underwood and Mike tied the knot after almost two years of dating.
More than 250 people were in attendance at their wedding ceremony at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge in Greensboro, Georgia.
Carrie’s engagement ring from Mike features a yellow diamond and was valued at $150K.
In February 2015, the couple welcomed their first child; a son named Isaiah.
In January 2019, the singer and the pro athlete expanded their family further with the birth of their second son Jacob.
“She barely acknowledged the audience who kept chanting her name. The fans kept yelling ‘we love Carrie’ but she wouldn’t even turn around and wave most of the time – though she did a few times.
“Also, Carrie rarely danced during the contestant’s performances besides nodding along and shuffling to some rock songs.
“She did loosen up a bit by the end so she could’ve been nervous, especially since it was her first time judging in front of a live audience.
“But Lionel and Luke both had a lot more energy than Carrie did,” the source alleged.
The season 23 premiere of American Idol airs on Sunday, March 9th at 8pm ET on ABC.
As fans saw last week, the Oklahoma native suffered a massive technical error that led to several moments of awkward silence on live TV in the middle of the inauguration – which was being telecast around the world.
Carrie was quickly walked onto the stage area by handlers when music from America The Beautiful was supposed to begin playing.
However, nothing came from the speakers – leading to awkward moments of silence and confusion as the whole room, Carrie included, looked around – seemingly not knowing what to do.
The former Idol winner ended up pushing through as she belted out the tune acapella and was praised by viewers for her professional “boss move.”
Despite the positive reaction from fans, Carrie was reportedly left “furious” by the lack of consideration, as well as for the technical mishap that occurred on the world’s biggest stage.
