Cate Blanchett made some fans do a double take while filming her upcoming action film, Black Bag, in London last week. On May 24th, the Oscar winner and style icon, 55, rocked a new hairstyle in the city’s Marylebone neighborhood on the set of her latest spy thriller project.

Instead of her usual blonde bob, Blanchett sported a long, center-parted, light brunette wavy wig, making her appear nearly unrecognizable.

The Carol actress completed her outfit for the movie with a brown leather jacket over a black jumpsuit with wide-leg bottoms, and accessorized with a matching belt around her tiny waist.

Blanchett was also seen donning black slouchy leather heeled boots, black oversized aviator shades, shiny gold rings, matching shimmering necklaces and carrying a black water bottle.

Filming for the flick, directed by Steven Soderbergh and featuring Blanchett, Pierce Brosnan, Michael Fassbender, Regé-Jean Page and Naomie Harris, began earlier this month in London. The plot of the movie has not yet been revealed, but Brosnan (known for his previous iconic James Bond role) will play a spy yet again, this time named Spiegel.

This ensemble is the latest of an epic string of chic get-ups from Blanchett, who recently walked the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in two instantly memorable gowns.

On May 18th, the Ocean’s 8 star illuminated the Cannes red carpet at the premiere of her dark comedy film, Rumours, in a bespoke Louis Vuitton gold cape dress that glowed with its metallic, glittery fabric.

The frock, designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, also featured crystal-embellished shoulder details and a floor-length skirt. For her glam, Blanchett wore her signature tousled blonde bob down and parted to the side.

Two days later, the Tár alum graced the Apprentice carpet in a stunning black strapless gown with a green underlayer from Haider Ackermann’s Jean Paul Gaultier collection.

This piece was paired with a one-of-a-kind Louis Vuitton necklace by Francesca Amfitheatrof featuring repurposed pearls and diamonds. Blanchett slicked her blonde tresses into an elegant updo.

Both looks were styled by Elizabeth Stewart and generated praise and admiration from fans on social media.
