While this was nothing but a friendly back-and-forth with his comrade, Drake has always been accused of getting ab surgery.

Drake has always been the talk of the town, both for good and bad reasons. The one thing that has always caught the fans’ attention is the music icon’s incredible physique and his washboard abs. Anyone who follows him on Instagram will vouch for the fact that Drake is super proud of his transformation and why shouldn’t he be? A body like that doesn’t come easy, after all.Drake in a still from his music video First Person Shooter

DJ Carnage Took a Dig at Drake’s Washboard Abs

In a now-deleted post, Drake was seen posing shirtless in front of a tropical view and his abs were on full display. He captioned the post (Via Complex), “I forget what it’s called but I remember the feeling.” While fans were in awe of the rapper’s physique and thanked him for giving them motivation to hit the gym, there was one hater spotted amongst the crowd. Well, not really.

DJ Carnage left a comment on the post targeting Drake’s abs stating that he got ab surgery in Columbia. He wrote,

“You got fake ab surgery in Columbia. You ain’t fooling anybody.”

Drake’s fitness trainer hit back at DJ Carnage in the replies stating, “Holla at me I’ll get you right too.” Drake wasn’t one to sit quiet, either, and had a nasty, shade-filled reply ready to go for Carnage. He wrote back,

“Is this cause you are angry about the one thing that happened with that one person the other day that you thought was your wifey”.

Before the media could escalate things and pit Drake and DJ Carnage against each other in an online feud, the singer made it clear that the banter was all in good fun.

However, this was not the only time someone talked about Drake getting surgery to enhance his abs. A few years back, DJ/radio personality Joe Budden took a jab at Drake’s “sculpted stomach” in his diss track Afraid. He also tweeted about the singer seeing Dr. Miami, a well-known cosmetic surgeon, for his abs.

Quite recently, Kendrick Lamar released a Drake diss track titled Euphoria as a response to the singer’s Push Ups in an ongoing feudIn his diss track, Lamar accused him of getting plastic surgery. These are the lyrics:

“Yeah, my first one like my last one, it’s a classic, you don’t have one/ Let your core audience stomach that/ Didn’t tell ’em where you get your abs from”

Needless to say, Drake cannot escape the plastic surgery accusations no matter how much he tries. However, it sure doesn’t look like he cares too much about what the haters have to say!

Drake’s Trainer Talks About His Transformation

Transforming your body is not an easy task and the results come after months and months of hard work, perseverance, and discipline. Luckily, fitness trainer Jonny Roxx was there with Drake to help him take his physique to the next level. In an interview with Elle, Roxx opened up about Drake’s transformation and just how long it took for the duo to get to that point

Roxx revealed that in order to completely transform the rapper’s body, it took three to four consecutive years with some breaks here and there.

“We have goals, you know? It’ll take sometimes six months for us to get to a goal, sometimes we’re working at it and it takes us a year. But for him to get to where he is, we’ve just been literally working at his fitness for maybe three or four years consistently. I give him the time to have breaks, some time off, because [he’s] working on his album, traveling, touring. But we’ve been working consistently for three years to get to where he is.”

However, he didn’t forget to mention that things like time or abs are never his priority. His main focus was on keeping Drake healthy.

“We’re just focused on getting him healthy. We’re not really focused on three months, a six pack, or this and that. If he has something that he has to do, whether it’s a magazine cover or a movie role or something like that, we’ll get ready for that, but for the most part I’m just trying to keep the wheels turning on him.”

Drake sure is lucky to have a trainer who understands the needs of his body and helps him achieve such drastic transformations without compromising his health.
