Your Honor has been rocking the Netflix top 10 charts since its addition to Netflix in the United States, leading many to look to the streamer to revive the show that first aired on Showtime.
The addition of the show to Netflix gave the show a huge boost in popularity (more on that in a second), and Bryan Cranston even used his social media profile to promote the addition to Netflix.
If you’ve reached the end of Your Honor season 2, you’ll be disappointed to hear that Showtime ultimately opted not to renew the series for a third season.
Was the show canceled? It doesn’t look like it. According to Cranston, speaking to Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast (via Newsweek) ahead of season 2 premiering, the show even got a second outing, which was not the original plan, with it intended to be a limited series initially.
Cranston last provided an update at Deadline’s Contender TV event in April 2023, saying, “There is some discussion. Showtime has indicated there is interest and we’re very proud to know that every episode in Season 2 increased in the audience from the previous week. If it happens, fantastic, but it’d have to be some great reason to keep expanding in this world and to find out where the allegiances are. I’d be very interested in producing that. I don’t know about being in it because my guy’s back in prison.”
Of course, it’s been over a year since those comments, and there’s been no further indication of whether Showtime is particularly interested in moving forward.
With that context out of the way, let’s look to the future and its performance on Netflix.
The show was licensed for the reasons outlined above and since the show has landed, it’s been incredibly popular in the United States top 10s. Per FlixPatrol, since it was added, it’s now appeared in the top 10s for 30 days and counting. We’ve often indicated that shows with long legs in the top 10s often see their chances of renewal at Netflix increase dramatically, suggesting the show is sticky.
The show has spent two weeks in the global TV top 10s despite being only available in the United States. Here’s its performance thus far, with it picking up 44.80 million hours watched, equating to just under 5 million views:

Of course, given this performance, there’s been a chorus of calls from people across social media whether that be Twitter or Facebook looking to Netflix to revive the show for a third season.
What are the chances of a revival? The performance suggests it’s a worthwhile exploration for Netflix, but given how season 2 ends and Cranston’s preference for not staring, it’d need to be reworked dramatically to justify a revival. While Netflix has saved plenty of shows in its lifetime based on titles it licensed (see Lucifer and Manifest), they are mostly rare occurrences. Julia Alexander wrote about Twitter campaigns and how they rarely influence Netflix’s decision-making while at IGN, meaning that the decision-making will come purely down to the numbers.
This isn’t the only other show added to Netflix 2024 vying for a revival either. We’ve seen producers and people connected to shows like Act Your Age, Warrior, and, most recently, Scavengers Reign all looking for a renewal at Netflix following their licensing to the streamer.
