While the defamation trial between exes Johnny Depp and Amber Heard came to a close in April 2022, recently released court documents are still causing a stir among fans. Now, fans are questioning whether or not Heard’s claims about Jason Momoa taunting her on set hold any truth.
During the trial, in which Heard was being prosecuted by Depp, the actress claimed she had notes that were written by her former therapist from past sessions. According to these notes, Heard had confided in her therapist about alleged altercations she had with her ex-husband over the years. While Heard has spoken of these alleged therapy notes before, the official court documents containing her claims about what they contained have recently been released to the public (per some nosy Redditors’ requests), and now Jason Momoa is coming into the mix.
Just a couple of months ahead of the December release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, starring Heard and Momoa, these aforementioned “therapist notes” show that Heard complained of the Aquaman set being hostile. Heard, who plays the leading role of Mera in the film, alleged that an intoxicated Momoa would provoke her by dressing up as her ex and even wanted her booted from the film.
“Jason said he wanted me fired,” the therapy notes showed, according to a Variety report. “Jason drunk — late on set. Dressing like Johnny. Has all the rings too.”
Reps for Momoa, however, denied these allegations, claiming that the actor always dressed in a “bohemian” style, and was never attempting to mimic his co-star’s famous ex.
Amber Heard Nearly Got Fired From ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’
Via InstarWhile Heard previously claimed that Momoa and the Aquaman sequel’s director, James Wan, were plotting against her, the same court documents also revealed that Heard’s role in the film was actually in question, but for different reasons.
Apparently, Warner Bros. and DC didn’t believe the actress had good chemistry with Momoa. When this was brought to her attention, however, Heard’s boyfriend at the time, Elon Musk, came to her aid with a scathing letter to Warner Bros, threatening to “burn the house down” if Heard wasn’t featured in the sequel. Needless to say, Heard was kept in the leading role.
According to a TMZ report, amid Depp’s win in the defamation trial, fans demanded Heard be taken out of the Aquaman film altogether in a viral petition. Screenings of the sequel apparently haven’t done too well, but fans won’t be able to get a real look at the film until December 2023.
Fans Accused Amber Heard of Faking Her Therapist’s Notes Used In Court
ShutterstockSoon after Depp’s win in the defamation trial, Heard appeared on Today in an interview with Savannah Guthrie. On the show, Heard willingly showed copies of these scribbled notes written by her therapist — the same ones used in her defense in court. However, upon airing these notes on the show, fans were quick to speculate the validity of these documents.
Even just after the release of the teaser for the Today episode, social media lit up with fans claiming the handwriting on the therapist’s notes looked oddly similar to Heard’s. One Twitter user wrote on the platform, “Suspicious similarities between Amber Heard’s handwriting and her ‘therapist’ notes… pay particular attention to the way the ‘e’, ‘f’ and ‘th’ is written.”
While fans continue to speculate whether or not these notes are, in fact, fake, it’s hard to deny the similarities in writing. But the jury in the case of Depp vs Heard was ultimately in Depp’s favor anyway, concluding that Heard would pay her ex a settlement of $1 million.
