Some film fans say they are unimpressed by the announcement of a John Wick 5 film in the works, and some say they will only watch it for a specific plot detail.

The John Wick franchise is set to continue with Keanu Reeves said to be filming a fifth instalment a decade after the first film.

But some fans of the series were unconvinced by the announcement and say they will only watch if a specific plot line is followed. The series initially began with retired assassin Wick hunting down a man with connections to the mob after he killed his dog and stole his car.

From there, the series has followed a number of stories and brought in supporting actors like Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, and Clancy Brown. Twitter/X users had mixed reactions with the announcement of another in the series, and spelled out exactly what they wanted to happen in the next film after John Wick: Chapter 4 was released just last year.

The comments came following a post by The Hollywood Handle which claimed a new film was in the works. The tweet read: “John Wick 5 is reportedly in the wokrs with Keanu Reeves returning. Production is expected to begin in 2025.”

In a now-viral response, one person said what they wanted the plot to be – and it seems many agree. “only interested if john wick has to fight his way out of hell itself,” one wrote.

Another added: “i mean, that would have to be the plot, right?” A third wrote: “Slightly base it off of Dante’s inferno where he’s trying to fight his way to his wife in heaven.”

Other users let their imaginations run wild, with one suggesting: “He’s in hell, everyone he’s ever killed finds out and comes after him, and that’s the entire movie.” Another echoed the idea, writing: “John has to fight everyone he killed in the last four movies.”
