George Clooney grinned ear to ear at his surprise birthday celebration while on the set of his new movie in Tuscany, Italy.

The actor was seen on Monday at his birthday bash – on his actual birthday – as he turned 63.

George is currently filming the Noah Baumbach project with Adam Sandler, whom he was recently seen playing basketball with in between filming.

The movie star was seen taking pictures with cast and crew members in front of his birthday cake – with balloons decorations and birthday signage.

The movie star was seen smiling and greeting cast and crew members who surprised him with the birthday festivities.

George had a chocolate and vanilla cake with a cold beverage inside of a room that had a balloon archway.

There was also a birthday sign on the wall in Italy – it said Buon compleanno – which means Happy Birthday in Italian.

Adam was also at the festivities; the star, who was wearing a red hoodie and blue bottoms, was seen celebrating with his co-star.

Earlier, he was seen playing basketball in the same outfit.

George and Adam star in film alongside Riley Keough, Billy Crudip, Laura Dern, Patrick Wilson and Isla Fisher.

The film, directed by Noah Baumbach, is untitled at the moment.

A source told People that on his birthday, he enjoyed a game of basketball with co-star Adam: ‘George was in an upbeat, cheeky mood. They were laughing and goofing around on the seat.’

Adding: ‘They were both in a great mood.’

‘George always makes it fun on set. Some of the Italian crew have filmed with him in the past. Everyone loves him,’ the insider added.

George and his wife Amal Clooney, 46, are set to celebrate their children – twins Ella And Alexander’s seventh birthday next month.
