A video of Justin Bieber meeting his now-wife Hailey Bieber for the first time resurfaced after the two announced they were expecting their first child together.

Justin and Hailey Bieber met as teens and the rest has been history.

A video of Justin and Hailey’s first time meet-up resurfaced after they announced that they were expecting their first child together. In the video, Justin greeted his now-wife and her father Stephen Baldwin in 2009. The two were at the TODAY show, which Justin performed at and Hailey was there supporting her father. Stephen introduces her to Justin backstage and it was quite awkward as Hailey had her arms crossed.

Beliebers resurfaced the video of the meet up on X, formerly known as Twitter, and reminisced on the moment.

One person wrote: “Imagine having video proof of the very first time you made eye contact with the love of your life?” Another person wrote: “Who knew that awkward encounter would lead to a lifetime of love and happiness?” A third person wrote: “Bieber babies will have the sweetest bedtime love story of their parents.”

Hailey has talked about the awkward encounter in the past. On February 28, 2020 she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and reflected on the first time she met Justin. She said that it sounds “like this weird arranged marriage situation” but did not think anything about the situation at all. That day in 2009, she also met his mother, Pattie Mallete, who connected with Hailey’s father as friends and invited Justin and Pattie over to the Baldwin’s home the next day. She revealed that they had dinner and then went bowling.

Hailey said: “Nowhere was there a thought that I was like, ‘Yeah, he probably has a crush on me.’ I did not — that was not the case at all. We just were hanging and [now] that is my entire husband. It’s ridiculous.”

After their first interaction, the two remained good friends. Even though Hailey did not think she and Justin would be a married couple after their first time meeting, they both did always want to be parents. In the YouTube series, Justin Bieber: Our World, Hailey and Justin talked about having their own family one day after getting married. In a clip shown in the series, Justin said that his intentions for 2021 was to put his family first and to hopefully “start trying” to “squish out a nugget,” referring to a baby.
