As an Oscar-winning actress she can count on being recognised most places she goes.
But in a very amusing twist, Helen Hunt was mistaken for another movie star, Jodie Foster, as she visited a Starbucks on Monday.
The 52-year-old star laughed off the incident in a Twitter post writing: ‘Ordered my drink @Starbucks Asked the barista if she wanted my name. She winked and said “We gotcha” #JodieFoster’
Seeing the funny side: Helen Hunt laughed off being mistaken for Jodie Foster by a Starbucks barista on Monday
Along with the post Helen shared a snap of the drink in question, which appeared to be an iced green tea.
In addition to the clear case of mistaken identity, the Mad About You star’s barista even misspelled Jodie’s name, writing ‘Jody’.
Clearly delighting Twitterverse with her anecdote, just several hours after she posted it Helen’s post had been liked over 11,000 times.
Well, they both have an Oscar! Helen, 52, and Jodie, 53, do look similar so it’s understandable they’d be mistaken for each other
While the resemblance between the two Oscar-winning stars is clear to see, it’s also not the first time Helen has been mistaken for the Silence of the Lambs star.
The Twister actress admitted to David Letterman in a 1994 interview that a grocery store checkout clerk had once made the same mistake.
After trying to convince him she was not Jodie and showing him her driver’s licence, the staff member unfortunately didn’t know who she was.
Helen’s career has been quiet in recent years but the actress likes to spend her time with her family and surfing in Malibu.
Recurring issue: It’s not the first time Helen has been mistaken for the Taxi Driver star, as she revealed in an interview with David Letterman in 1994 it happened in a grocery store
She will soon be seen in upcoming TV series Shots Fired and has previously directed episodes of Revenge and House of Lies.
In 2014 she wrote, directed and starred in Ride alongside Luke Wilson.
The actress has been in a relationship with producer, director and writer Matthew Carnahan since 2001 and they have 10-year-old daughter Makena together.
She previously married Hank Azaria in July 1999, but they divorced in December 2000.
Not Jodie Foster: The Twister star was spotted at LAX last week as she jetted back to Los Angeles from New York
Acclaimed actress: Jodie was pictured while promoting her latest directorial offering, Money Monster, in London on Friday
