Big news, everyone! Sofronio Vasquez just signed with New York’s Republic Records after winning The Voice USA’s 26th season. This label is pretty famous because superstars like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and groups like TWICE are with them.

He chatted with Karen Davila on her YouTube channel last Thursday. Vasquez shared, “I am automatically signed with Republic Records. I can’t believe it,” showing how excited he was, but didn’t give away too many details.

Looking back on his journey, he said, “When I look back, I see my colleagues becoming champions. I used to tell myself that I want to be a champion too. And now, this is the moment that has been given to me to be the champion.” It sounds like his dreams are coming true!

What about the $100,000 prize? That’s about ₱5.8 million. Vasquez plans to use this money wisely. “I will use the money as an investment in my music,” he mentioned. He’s really focused on making it big in America.

Vasquez isn’t afraid of getting a few ‘no’s as he works towards his music goals. “If I have to produce myself, if I have to reach out to people, big names, I’m always open to it. A ‘no’ is a ‘no,’ and a ‘yes’ is a ‘yes.’ I’ll keep trying. If I receive a ‘no,’ I’ll just move on to the next opportunity,” he said confidently.

He also talked warmly about his coach from The Voice USA, Michael Bublé, comparing him to his late father. “I’m blessed. He is just an amazing person. He’s so kind. He’s very genuine,” he expressed. “I will forever treasure how he loved me. I see my father in him.”

Vasquez’s win is a big deal because he’s the first Filipino to win The Voice USA. He’s been pretty busy with events back in the Philippines and even met with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
