Michelle Pfeiffer is allgedly very close to taking the lead role in a new Yellowstone spin-off series.
A lot of media franchises suffered a lot in their filming and production schedules due to the writers and SAG-AFTRA strikes that took place last year. The neo-Western drama series starring Kevin Costner as the leader of the Dutton family, Yellowstone also saw a major delay in its filming schedule, and subsequently, the release of the final season of the series has been delayed significantly.
However, the strikes were not the only reason for the delay in the filming of the series. It was Kevin Costner’s filming schedule that has also been causing trouble for the crew and cast of Yellowstone.
Matthew McConaughey might not be a part of Yellowstone‘s upcoming spin-off series
Season 5 of Yellowstone is going to be the final season of the series and the first part of the season was released back in January 2023. The second part of the season which was to wrap up the series was all set to be released in November 2023 but the release was delayed due to the writers’ strike and later due to the filming issues of the star of the series, Kevin Costner.
A few spinoff series of Yellowstone have already been released with Taylor Sheridan developing a few more projects in the meantime. Earlier it was revealed that the Oscar-winning star, Matthew McConaughey will be starring in the lead role of an upcoming spinoff series. According to Life & Style Magazine the Interstellar star is allegedly asking for a whopping amount of almost $2.5 million per episode.

With the earlier troubles with Kevin Costner and Matthew McConaughey asking a huge amount of money per episode, an insider has recently revealed to National Enquirer that Michelle Pfeiffer might end up as the new lead of the upcoming spinoff series. The source said,
“Michelle is primed for big, big things and the mood is the franchise will go a different route and embrace girl power and move with the times.”
The source further talked about how Kevin Costner will most likely not be the lead of the spinoff series and he will just return to film the final season of Yellowstone and end his arc as John Dutton III on the show. The insider said,
“He’s now willing to let bygones be bygones and appear in some capacity in the second half of Yellowstone’s fifth and final season for proper closure of his character.”
If Matthew McConaughey does not reach an agreement with the Paramount Network soon, Michelle Pfeiffer may become the lead star of the upcoming spinoff series.
An insider claims Michelle Pfeiffer might take up the lead role in Yellowstone‘s spin-off series
Considering the star stature of Matthew McConaughey, a fee of almost $2.5 million per episode makes sense but the spin-off series will have to be a phenomenal success just like Yellowstone to justify that price tag.
As an insider recently informed the National Enquirer, Michelle Pfeiffer is very excited about taking up the lead role in the upcoming Yellowstone spin-off series. The source said,
“Matthew’s stalling could really cost him and he’s still hasn’t inked a deal. Kevin’s return isn’t set in stone either — and he’s only going to get a cameo at best, thanks to his hard-line tactics, so the coast is clear for Michelle to take over!…She’s really excited and ready to go.
Word is, she’s very close to a deal and she really wants to do this, unlike her indecisive male counterparts. Her casting would be a refreshing welcome!”
