In May, Jason announced that he had signed a multi-year deal with ESPN to become a member of their Monday Night Countdown crew.
Despite this, he has remained a regular figure at the Eagles’ training facility this year.
“He was in the building maybe more than a lot of the players this offseason,” Eagles tackle Lane Johnson recently told Kay Adams on her FanDuel TV Show, Up And Adams.
“I think he was seeking advice from people and opinions kind of about his future.
“He was in the building a lot.”
Now it has been revealed that, at some point, the Eagles even tried to offer Jason a job in their scouting department.
“I think Jason would be great at anything in football. I think he’d be a heck of an evaluator,” general manager Howie Roseman told Adams.
“I tried to recruit him to come work for me too because he can evaluate players.”
What’s more, it turns out that Jason’s advice on players has been sought before.
“When we were in that draft I gave him a few centers that we really liked and he came out and said, ‘I like Cam Jurgens,'” Roseman recalled.
And in 2022, the Eagles did end up drafting Jurgens – Jason’s heir apparent – in the second round.
But it seems that Jason’s options, should he opt to return to Philly, may not be limited to scouting.
Asked if he would welcome the former center onto his coaching staff, head coach Nick Sirianni told Adams, “Jason Kelce can have a space on anything he wants to do on this football team.
“I love him. I will greatly miss him, how good of a leader he was and getting everybody on the same page and motivating.”
Should Jason opt to become a coach, he wouldn’t have to worry about finding a new setup for himself in the building as Johnson previously revealed that he already has a locker in the coach’s locker room.
‘It was a short retirement!’
Jason Kelce didn’t stay retired in the NFL for long.
The former Philadelphia Eagles lineman called it quits after the 2023 season.
But he will be part of ESPN’s coverage on Monday Night Football in 2024.
Kelce will appear on Monday Night Countdown from 6pm-8pm ET every week as well as during the halftime show.
“Turns out, it was a short retirement!” he joked.
“ESPN was a consistent presence in our household growing up and the network helped shape who I am and my love of all sports.
“To now appear on that same screen is a full circle moment.
“And, I mean it’s freaking Monday Night Football! and I’m ready for some football.”
Regardless of whatever the future may hold, Jason has plenty to keep him busy in the meantime.
Along with his ESPN role, he is also the co-host of the New Heights podcast along with his brother and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis.
They are also co-investors in an independent light-beer brand, Garage Beers.
The Kelce brothers have also recently collaborated with General Mills to create their own cereal mix.
Their custom concoction includes Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, and Reese’s Puffs.
Recently, Jason also starred in a commercial for charcoal company Kingsford alongside fellow NFL veteran Vince Wilfork.
And as if all of his business ventures weren’t enough to keep him busy, Jason has also spent much of the summer traveling.
Jason, his wife Kylie, and Travis headed to France for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
Shortly afterward, Jason and Kylie headed to London where they joined Travis to watch his partner and pop sensation Taylor Swift in action on her Era’s Tour.
Following the beginning of the Paris Olympics, Jason and Kylie returned to France to cheer on Team USA.
