A viral video purporting to show Jeff Bezos’s girlfriend Lauren Sanchez “flirting” with Leonardo DiCaprio racked up more than 10million views – and Jeff responded with a “threat” to Leo – but things aren’t as they seem.

If there’s one man it might be nerve-wracking to introduce your girlfriend to, it’s probably Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio.

And it turns out this is the case even if you’re the richest man in the world – Amazon boss Jeff Bezos, who has a net worth of £143billion.

A video of Jeff and his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez chatting to Leo at an event went viral over the weekend as Twitter uses were convinced Lauren was flirting with Leo.

At the LACMA Art+Film Gala in Los Angeles, TV reporter Lauren appeared to briefly put her arm around Leo as she beamed at him, with an awkward-looking Jeff standing stiffly beside her.

The video was tweeted by Barstool Sports with the caption: “Leo is Mr Steal Yo Girl”, and has already been viewed more than 10million times.

“All that money and still powerless to keep your girl from thirsting over Leo,” wrote one user.

“She’s ready to risk it all,” joked another.

A third added: “I vote for Leo. She’s flirting right in his face.”

It could have been an embarrassment for the couple, but Jeff reacted in the best way possible with a tongue-in-cheek tweet threatening Leo.

He posted a photo of himself next to a danger warning of a ‘fatal drop’, and wrote alongside it: “Leo, come over here, I want to show you something… @LeoDiCaprio.”

This response has racked up almost 30,000 likes on the social media platform already.

Billionaire Jeff, 57, divorced his wife of 25 years, Mackenzie Scott, in 2019.

The divorce left her with $35.6 billion in Amazon stock and a personal net worth of almost $60 billion, making her one of the richest people on earth.

But in the following year, Mackenzie donated $8.6billion in 786 donations, making her one of the world’s most generous philanthropists.

Jeff began dating news anchor Lauren, 51, the same year, following her own divorce from businessman Patrick Whitesell.

But what people might not know is that Leo and Jeff’s exchange really is all in jest, because the minted men are actually pals.

“They’re really close friends and have been for a while,” a source told Page Six.

The insider added that Leo had invited the couple to the event in the first place, and they had even been on holiday together in the past.

Plus – Leo, who turns 47 on Thursday, is loved up with actress Camila Morrone, 24.

Yet another age gap relationship under Leo’s belt, Camila spoke out about their 23-year age difference in 2019.

During a tell-all interview with the Los Angeles Times, the star revealed she isn’t bothered by their large age gap but admitted to understanding why people are interested in it.

She said: “There’s so many relationships in Hollywood – and in the history of the world – where people have large age gaps.

“I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date.”

The actress opened up about having an identity away from her Oscar-winning beau, who is older than her mother, and said she hopes for her career success to set her aside.

“I think more and more now that people are seeing the film I’m slowly getting an identity outside of that,” she said.

“Which is frustrating because I feel like there should always be an identity besides who you’re dating.”

She confessed that she hopes talk of their relationship becomes “less of a conversation”, but said she understood the “association”.

In the past, Leo has been linked to 30-year-old singer Rhianna, 28-year-old actress Kelly Rohrbach and 32-year-old model Bar Refaeli.

Gisele Bündchen, Nina Agdal, and Blake Lively are also believed to have enjoyed flings with the Revenant star.

A Reddit user even once made a graph charting his increasing age alongside the ages of his publicly known or rumoured girlfriends, none of whom were over the age of 25 when they dated.

This week, climate change activist Leo has been busy at the COP26 conference in Glasgow – and he surprised his fans by flying in from Edinburgh on a commercial flight rather than a private jet.

It came after he was called a hypocrite when he reportedly flew 8,000 miles from France to New York and back to collect an award on climate change back in 2016.

Leonardo has been involved in climate and environmental activism for more than 20 years, having been outspoken on environmental issues throughout most of his career.

He started The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in 1998 which gives money and grants to conservation projects to protect the Earth.
