The actress shared the details in an interview on ‘The Tonight Show’
Jodie Foster
In the world of movies, the decisions actors make when it comes to the roles they take have a huge impact in how they will be remembered throughout their lives.
In the case of Jodie Foster, the American has a career full of successful projects, the last of them bing the new season of ‘True Detective’. However, a movie could have changed everything.
During an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show’, the actress revealed that she was offered the chance to play Princess Leia in ‘Star Wars’. An ambitious role that she had to reject at the time due to another project.
It should be remembered that Foster started in the world of cinema at a young age when she was just a child.
One thing should be noted for the role. George Lucas, the famous director in charge of ‘Star Wars’, was looking for a very young Princess Leia. At 15 years old, Jodie was the best suited for this role. However, the one finally chosen was Carrie Fisher, who at the time was 19 years old.

Jodie Foster: I was already under contract
“They were going for a younger Princess Leia but I had a conflict,” Foster said.
“I was doing a Disney movie and I just didn’t want to pull out of the Disney movie because I was already under contract so I didn’t do it.”
“And they did an amazing job,” Foster continued. “I don’t know how good I would have been. I might have had different hair. I might have gone with a pineapple.”
