Jodie Foster shares two boys with Cydney Bernard.

They split up almost five years ago but Jodie and Cydney were seen getting along splendidly as they met up for a casual coffee date at Starbucks in Los Angeles’ posh Bel-Air neighbourhood.

Jodie was spotted on Wednesday looking her casual, fresh-faced self in light grey jeans, blue T-shirt and warming grey sweat jacket.

The 50-year-old didn’t look a day over 30 as she smilingly strolled down the street in navy Converse trainers with hands in her pockets and wearing her signature black-framed spectacles.

Her sandy blonde hair was unstyled and parted simply on the side, allowed to hang on either side of her face.

She appeared happy to be able to catch up with the 60-year-old Cydney, a film production manager who was her live-in partner for 15 years until their split in 2008.

Cydney was equally dressed down in dark trousers, white blouse and light striped cardigan, as well as T-strap sandals.

The couple no doubt had lots to talk about as they share parenting duties of Jodie’s biological sons Charles, 14, and Kit, 11. 

Toward the end of their get-together, Jodie gave Cydney a lingering hug that showed how much she still cares for the woman she has called her ‘righteous soul sister in life’.

Jodie ended years of speculation regarding her sexuality by coming out publicly at the Golden Globe Awards in January during which she accepted the Cecil B DeMille Award.

In a touching and sometimes rambling speech, Jodie paid loving tribute to Cydney who has been her mentor, friend and much more.

‘I guess I just have just a sudden urge to say something that I’ve never really been able to air in public,’ Jodie began.

‘[It’s] a declaration that I’m a little nervous about – but maybe not quite as nervous as my publicist right now. I’m just going to put it out there – loud and proud. I’m single.’

She continued: ‘This is not going to be a big coming out speech tonight because I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago back in the stone age – in those very quaint days when a fragile girl would open up to trusted friends and family and coworkers and then gradually proudly to everyone who knew her.

‘But now apparently I’m told that every celebrity is expected to honour the details of their private life with a press conference, a fragrance and a primetime reality show.’

Jodie has never revealed the name of her sons’ biological father.
