Jodie Foster received her first star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

And her former Panic Room co-star Kristen Stewart gave a heartwarming speech in honor of the 53-year-old Oscar-winning actress on Wednesday.

The Twilight star took to the podium and began: ‘Jodie Foster was my favorite actress before I was cast as her daughter in a movie called Panic Room when I was 10.’

‘She came onto the movie late and I was totally there to show her the ropes,’ Kristen, 26, joked to break the ice.

But as the laughter died down, she continued on a serious note: ‘Of all the examples that I could have had at such an impressionable age, there’s nothing self-serving about her.’

‘She cares about people, she is quite the opposite of the type of person that is gravitated towards being an actress.’

As Foster stood alongside Stewart, she beamed with delight at the honor but although it was Jodie’s first star, it wasn’t the first opportunity she had for the accolade.

The Silence of the Lambs star opened up to Variety recently about why she waited to accept the honor after being in the industry for 50 years.

‘I made this conscious decision that I didn’t want to have a star on Hollywood Boulevard unless it was in a conjunction with a movie I was directing,’ Foster confessed.

Jodie finally reached her goal as her highly anticipated thriller Money Monster starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts hits theaters May 13. 

‘I don’t know why that was important to me; it seems silly, but that’s why I waited all these years.’

Clooney stars as Lee Gates, a financial TV personality who offers stock advice on his hit show, Money Monster.

Following a bad tip from Lee, viewer Kyle Budwell, played by O’Connell loses all his money and holds Gates with his studio crew, hostage on air threatening to kill the host unless his money is recovered.

Julia Roberts is cast as a reporter outside the studio covering the drama as it unfolds.
