Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber are headed for parenthood after the pair shared exciting baby news on Instagram.
The sweet upload Justin posted a video and a series of artsy photographs, putting Hailey’s new baby bump on full display. The announcement included a sweet kiss and what appeared to be some sort of ceremony to celebrate the new life they are welcoming.
Fans started speculating that the pair were together in 2016, but their history actually dates all the way back to 2009 when Justin was still freshly entering the music scene. Let’s take a look at how their love life truly transpired, including some of that pesky beef with Selena Gomez.

Back in November 2009, the pair crossed paths backstage at the TODAY Show when Hailey was already super smitten for the young star. Her dad, Stephen Baldwin, was able to hook his daughter up with the sweet moment, not knowing what the future would hold for them. She then had the opportunity to attend the premiere of Justin’s documentary Never Say Never and meet him again in February 2011.
At that point, she was still considered to be just a fan of his and when his relationship with Selena Gomez went public, she totally fan-girled over that, too. Years later, she’d come to be embroiled in drama with the actress, but back then she posted on X, formerly known as Twitter : “I don’t care what anyone says but Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez together is the definition of a teenage dream! #word.”

By November 2014, Hailey and Justin seemed to bridge the gap from fan and idol to full-on friends. After Justin and Selena broke up, they were spotted attending Hillsong Church with Kendall Jenner. While she wasn’t well known herself, Hailey was starting to pique public interest given her Baldwin status. So, when Justin was linked to her, a Hollywood nepotism baby, people immediately began speculating that there might be something more going on between them.
Hailey denied Justin relationship rumours

Despite her past as a total Belieber, Hailey didn’t want anyone getting the wrong idea. In December 2014, she clarified to E! News that the pair were nothing more than good friends. She said: “I’ve known [Justin] since I was like 13—and we’ve just been good friends over the years. We have just stayed close, and there’s nothing more to it than that.”
Justin then took to Instagram to back her up. Alongside a selfie of the pair together, he wrote: “People are crazy. I’m super single and this is my good friend u would know otherwise.”
The pair went Instagram official in 2016, but weren’t exclusive

The pop star made the bold move to post a photo of himself and Hailey kissing on his Instagram. This, of course, rattled his fandom and made it seem like they were certainly an official item. However, only a month later, they both clarified that the kiss didn’t mean anything was too serious.
Hailey told E! that they weren’t an “exclusive couple.” Justin then told GQ that he didn’t “want to be held down by anything.” So, their relationship status still remained sort of a mystery for fans following along.

Perhaps the crux of the Hailey and Selena drama is that way Justin went back to the Disney star during the couple’s break. In Aug. 2016, Justin and Hailey ended their fling and he even unfollowed her on Instagram, showing true trouble. By Nov. 2017, Justin was linking back up with Selena until their official end in March 2018.
Retrospectively, Hailey told Elle : “Our lives seemed to be going in very different directions. I actually think—now that I look back at it being married—that it was a good thing for the two of us, very healthy.”

In a soft launch move, Justin and Hailey were spotted together again several times in mid-2018. The pair were seen packing on PDA at a religious event and then went out to a night club in Miami together. They didn’t confirm at the time what this meant for their relationship, but they continued on with public outings together. Justin and Hailey let the mystery grow for a month until it was time to clear things up.
Justin and Hailey were engaged in July 2018
After tons of speculation about the status of their relationship, Justin revealed that the pair were engaged. He wrote on Instagra: “Was gonna wait a while to say anything but word travels fast, listen plain and simple Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you! So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you loving you patiently and kindLY. I promise to lead our family with honour and integrity letting Jesus through his Holy Spirit guide us in everything we do and every decision we make. My heart is COMPLETELY and FULLY YOURS and I will ALWAYS put you first! You are the love of my life Hailey Baldwin and I wouldn’t want to spend it with anybody else.”

Justin and Hailey were spotted in New York City’s Marriage Bureau in Sept. 2018, so naturally fans assumed that they were finally hitched. However, the model took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to clarify that they hadn’t made anything official yet. It wasn’t until November that Justin confirmed the news by writing, My wife is awesome,” on Instagram, sending fans into a frenzy. The pair even held a second ceremony in 2019.

Justin and Hailey posed together, showing off her baby bump. They also shared a glimpse of some sort of ceremony which vaguely resembled that of a wedding, but didn’t’ clarify if they had hosted yet another wedding ceremony.
