Since going ‘Insta-official’ eight years ago with a lip-locking New Years Eve snap, Justin and Hailey Bieber have gone on to become one of this generations must high-profile celebrity power couples.

It turns out, however, that their fairytale romance actually dates back waaaay further than fans may have first thought, having first met in their early teenage years.

And in what many followers of their love story have deemed a ‘miracle’, their entire first meeting was actually caught on camera, with the footage once again doing the rounds on social media this week as the couple prepare for the birth of their first child together.

For those unfamiliar with their big-name romance, the Bieber’s tied the knot back in 2018 after years of on-and-off dating – following Justin’s split from fellow singer Selena Gomez – exchanging vows in a low-key courthouse ceremony in lower Manhattan.

Hailey – whose maiden name is Baldwin – then officially changed her surname to Bieber on social media, where she often gushes about her hubby being her ‘best friend’.

And in the years that followed, the couple announced the joyous news in May that they’re expecting their first child together later this year.

Amid the excitement over what’s to come for the married couple, many fans have seemingly forgot that – as we say – the pair’s romance actually dates back before they were first papped hand-in-hand together.

It’s true – it turns out that, back in 2009, at the height of his early success following the release of his debut single ‘One Time’, Justin and his future wife first came face-to-face in the Today Studios’ lobby.

Though just kids at the time, in a clip trending online, Justin could be seen first being introduced to Hailey’s father, film producer Steven Baldwin.

“My name’s Steve Baldwin,” the filmmaker tells the ‘Baby’ hitmaker, shaking his hand. “This is my daughter Hailey.”

“Nice to meet you,” Justin tells Hailey before going on to shake her hand.

And fans who are only just making the staggering realisation can’t help but express their shock over the matter.

Taking to Instagram – where Today’s official social media account shared the video again – one viewer jokingly gushed: “Biebs gave her a look.

“He liked what he saw but couldn’t make a play in front of her dad”.

While another teased in the comments: “The shortest ‘How I met your mother’ story.”
