Mahomes and the Chiefs quarterbacks were seen in a clip arriving at the Chiefs practice in the early morning.
They were walking on artificial turf, but Wentz seemed to get the worst of the surface during his stroll.
He slipped and nearly fell but managed to stay on his feet.
But Mahomes and the other quarterbacks Ian Book and Chris Oladkoun noticed the stumble and laughed at the moment.
“Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?” the two-time MVP quarterback asked Wentz.
Mahomes then told the Chiefs social media team to post the video of the sequence – and that they did.
“No QBs were harmed in the making of this video,” wrote the Chiefs social media accounts.
Wentz signed a one-year deal in the offseason with Kansas City.
He’ll replace Blaine Gabbert as Mahomes’ backup.
Last season, Wentz played with the Los Angeles Rams.
He was a starting quarterback in the previous seven seasons and is best known for his play with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Wentz won a Super Bowl title in his five seasons with the Eagles.
During that championship campaign, the North Dakota product had an MVP-caliber season before he tore his ACL.
Wentz is joining a Chiefs squad that has its eyes on a potential third straight Super Bowl title.

Mahomes and tight end star Travis Kelce made their way to training camp in front of a huge crowd.
The Super Bowl champion quarterback already impressed fans on day one.
During practice, Mahomes ran to his left and threw a pass more than 50 yards to rookie wideout Xavier Worthy for a touchdown.
The crowd cheered when the 2024 first-round pick caught the pass.
Mahomes and Kelce were seen celebrating Worthy’s catch.
