Kate Winslet and her ex-husband Sam Mendes were always listed among the most decent Hollywood couples. Surprisingly, media rumors about an alleged affair between Mendes and actress Rebecca Hall allegedly led them to announce their separation in 2010, culminating in their divorce in 2011.
But even after their separation, Winslet reportedly went ballistic when Mendes allegedly tried to hire Rachel Weisz in a James Bond film.
Rachel Weisz is among the most renowned English stars with numerous hits and an Oscar. She starred in the highly successful The Mummy films opposite Brendan Fraser and was also seen in the MCU’s Black Widow.

Before Kate Winslet married Sam Mendes in 2003, the latter had a relationship with Rachel Weisz. It was reported by Daily Mail that soon after the couple called it quits, Sam Mendes tried to contact his ex-girlfriend Weisz for a role in an upcoming James Bond film which allegedly infuriated Winslet.
Rachel Weisz was reportedly an unacceptable person in the Winslet-Mendes residence. Reports state that the 1917 director wanted to direct the Black Widow actress for many years but Winslet never allowed it. As a result, the Heavenly Pictures actress was allegedly enraged to see her husband’s attempt to reconnect with Weisz.
As soon as Kate and Sam split, he was on the phone asking Rachel if she was interested in doing the movie. Rachel has always been persona non grata in the Winslet-Mendes household, and Kate went ballistic when she heard that Sam wanted to hire her. Sam has wanted to work with Rachel for ages, but Kate would not allow it. Although they ran in the same Hollywood circles, they avoided each other.
All these problems ultimately resulted in the Hollywood couple’s divorce in 2011. Nevertheless, despite being heartbroken, Kate Winslet decided not to create any nasty scenario, mutually parted ways, and agreed to co-parent their children.
On the other hand, Sam Mendes went on to have a brief relationship with actress Rebecca Hall before marrying trumpeter Alison Balsom in 2017. He also directed 2 James Bond films with Daniel Craig but unfortunately failed to cast Rachel Weisz despite her wish to be a Bond girl (via Hello Magazine).

Rachel Weisz could never be a Bond girl on the big screen, but she surprised everyone in 2011 by secretly getting married to Daniel Craig. The latter actor is considered the best version of 007 after the late Sean Connery.
Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz first met a long time ago in 1994 when they co-starred in the play Les Grandes Horizontales at the National Theatre Studio. However, their romance blossomed later when both shared the screen in 2011’s Dream House.
Although Dream House was critically and commercially blasted by everyone, it introduced a new Hollywood couple. But sadly, we may not see this duo on-screen together soon as Weisz thinks that working separately helps them balance their personal and professional lives (via USA Today).
The duo also welcomed a baby daughter in 2018 and is currently one of the most adorable celebrity couples in Tinseltown.
