Keanu Reeves admits he’s been married to Winona Ryder for almost 30 years, there was a grand wedding The actor joked that one movie scene may have actually counted as a wedding, well, at least in the eye of God.
Keanu Reeves has revealed that he may have been married to Winona Ryder for some 30 years.
The star of The Matrix and John Wick shared that he and Ryder may have inadvertently married… well, at least in the eyes of God.
It seems a little far-fetched as you might think that you would be aware that you were married to someone.
But it turns out in this case there may be an understandable reason why Wick was not aware of his and Ryder’s nuptials.
Now, actors can put themselves through a lot for a role.
Whether it’s dialect coaches, losing or gaining weight, learning a whole new skill, or with some ‘method’ actors getting frankly a bit extreme.
But getting married is a rather permanent commitment to a role.
So, how on earth did the pair end up potentially tying the knot and not know for three decades?

It’s from a moment in a film that they both starred in way back in the 90s.
If you like drama, shouting, weird victorian pseudo-science, and Gary Oldman with long curly hair then look no further than Francis Ford-Coppola’s 1992 film Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
The movie is a flawed but spectacular adaptation of the OG vampire story, starring Gary Oldman as Dracula himself, with Anthony Hopkins as his nemesis Van Helsing.
Keanu Reeves plays the unfortunate Jonathon Harker, an estate agent who travels to Dracula’s castle in the Carpathian Mountains to assist him in the purchase of an estate in London.
Ryder plays Mina Murray, Jonathan’s fiancé at the start of the story.
The pair marry after Jonathan escapes Dracula’s castle and is recovering in a nunnery.

The scene was dramatised in the film with a real Orthodox priest carrying out the wedding.
Speaking about this to Esquire, Reeves said: “We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests. Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So, I guess we’re married under the eyes of God.”
You might be thinking that they only did the bits necessary for the film, but Ryder claimed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that this is not the case.
While promoting the movie Destination Wedding, that the pair starred in, she said: “We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis used a real Romanian priest.
“We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So, I think we’re married.”
Well, congratulations to the happy couple on their pearl wedding anniversary!
