Keanu Reeves has been granted a temporary restraining order against a man who insists he’s related to the Matrix star.

Reeves took action against the alleged trespasser with court documents filed by his lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, on Tuesday (31 January).

The documents claimed Reeves was being harassed by 38-year-old Bryan Dixon, who is accused of having turned up at Reeves’ home in Hollywood Hills, California on six different occasions between 5 November and 20 January.

Dixon has allegedly been trying to prove he is related to 58-year-old Reeves, in part by sharing messages on social media in which he referred to himself as ‘Jasper Keith Reeves’.

Reeves was born in Canada in 1964 to parents Patricia Taylor and Samuel Nowlin Reeves Jr., and is known to have three sisters; Kim, Karina, and Emma.

On 5 November, Dixon allegedly trespassed into the back garden of Reeves’ property before falling asleep on the grounds. He was removed upon being found.

The following morning, he is said to have left a ‘suspicious and alarming’ bag at the property which was found to contain a DNA testing kit.

According to the court documents cited by TMZ, Dixon intended to use the kit on Reeves ‘in a delusional attempt to prove they are blood-related’.

He is also accused of assigning his personal ‘rights’ to the actor and putting Reeves in ‘charge’ of him.

On at least one of the six alleged occasions, Dixon is said to have entered Reeves’ property through a side gate. In another, he scaled a fence surrounding the property.

Reeves’ legal team has claimed Reeves has no idea who Dixon is, and noted that the suspect has a lengthy rap sheet including a bench warrant issued against him in Rhode Island for alleged breaking and entering with felonious intent, possessing burglary tools and vandalism.

Reeves was granted the restraining order which rules that Dixon must not come within 100 yards of Reeves or his partner, Alexandra Grant.

The actor has hired a security team to investigate the trespassing, and police are now also involved in the matter.

This isn’t the first time Reeves has had to deal with incidents at his home – in 2015, police were called after a man put a FedEx envelope into Reeves’ post box with a message which allegedly read: “I will call the cell provided tomorrow. We need to meet as I have already started building the new world.”
