LAW and Order: SVU fans have been left confused as a star returns to the drama.
Amy Carlson made a guest appearance on Law & Order: SVU Season 25 episode 4.
However, she came back as a different character than she was in her spinoff, Trial By Jury.
On the most recent episode of Law & Order: SVU, Amy, 55, played Katie McGrath, the wife of Chief McGrath.
This was the first time Katie was seen on the drama – but she has appeared on many of the Law & Order spinoffs.
The appearance left fans confused because Amy typically stars as Linda Reagan on Blue Bloods.
Amy has also starred in other crime dramas including Third Watch, NCIS, Criminal Minds, and more.
In Trial By Jury, she played Kelly Gaffney, an ADA.
FANS ARE SHOCKED
Fans of the crime dramas posted their shock on X, formerly Twitter.
“Amy Carlson is back on #SVU,” one fan said.
“Wait Amy Carlson is Mcgraths wife?! Woah. #svu @NBCSVU_fans,” added another.
“Seeing Amy Carlson guest star on #SVU made me so happy. I love her,” a third added.
“I def called her Linda first (#BlueBloods), but it’s always good to see Amy Carlson! Just a shame I can’t stand your character’s husband. Chief McGrath is trash. #SVU,” another said.
“This episode is insane! McGrath is killing it and love seeing Amy Carlson from #bluebloods and Doogie’s old pal Max Casella #doogiehowsermd #SVU,” one fan wrote.
SHE’S BACK
Amy wasn’t the only character to return to the drama.
She reprised her role as Detective Amanda Rollins for Law & Order: SVU’s 25th season premiere in January.
Kelli’s scheduled appearance was the second time she’s been on the show since she was fired from the show in 2022.
Before that, she was on the finale of the 24th season.
