Brad Pitt had an unfortunate experience in a Charlie Sheen film but at the very least, Leonardo DiCaprio got a kick out of it.

“Leo, I’ll ride on your coattails any day, man. The view’s fantastic.” Those were the words by Brad Pitt during his acceptance speech back in 2020, taking home an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. Fans finally got to see Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio together in a film, and it was well worth the wait during Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

In the following, we’re going to take a closer look at the duo’s relationship both on and off the set. In addition, we’ll reveal some of their best interview moments while promoting the film. The two weren’t afraid to let loose, and what was apparent during a particular story Pitt retold of one of his very first experiences in Hollywood.

The moment itself was almost a complete disaster, and it took place in a Charlie Sheen film. Let’s take a closer look at the details and more.

Leonardo DiCaprio And Brad Pitt Had Great Chemistry On-Screen, But Also Bonded Off Camera

It was long overdue but during Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt finally starred in the same film and clearly, the chemistry was exactly what fans anticipated. Pitt had a blast working with DiCaprio and according to his words with InStyle, he learned a lot from his co-star.

“He’s so committed,” Pitt said. “Like within a scene. You can play a scene at level one or 11, and he’s always pushing for the edge. He’s not protecting himself in any way. Sometimes, you will kind of put the reins on, but he’s literally throwing himself out there. He goes all the way and it’s really impressive. Which is why the epic break-dancing trailer works so well.”

Not only did the two bond on-set, but that friendship also continued off-camera. According to reports from The Sun, DiCaprio loved visiting Pitt’s sculpting studio, and the two stars would bond over it while enjoying sandwiches from Fat Sal’s together.

The chemistry between the two was also evident during candid interviews. One particular moment saw Leo break during an epic story Pitt disclosed about his earlier days in Hollywood.

Leonardo DiCaprio Had A Laugh After Brad Pitt Detailed His Experience As An Extra In A Charlie Sheen Film

Yes, even Brad Pitt had to climb the Hollywood ladder, taking on a role as an extra early on. For this particular gig, Pitt worked alongside Charlie Sheen, which was considered a big deal given the actor’s popularity. However, the experience almost got Brad completely canceled before his career started.

As Pitt revealed with DiCaprio during their interview alongside BBC News, his work as an extra was almost cut short after he decided to go off script for more film time. However, those behind the scenes were less than thrilled at the moment.

Pitt reveals alongside Collider, “I was just so excited to be there. I did extra work for about a year and a half, maybe two years. There was this catch-22. To get your SAG card, you had to have a line, but to have a line you had to have your SAG card. So, there was this Charlie Sheen/DB Sweeney movie, and I was an extra. It was a big dinner scene, and they pulled me out to be the waiter.”

He continues, “I was supposed to pour champagne and I thought, ‘I’m gonna try it!’ And so, I poured Charlie’s glass. They were having a big conversation. I poured the next actor’s glass. And then, there was a young woman on the end and I poured her glass, and then I went, ‘Would you like anything else?’ I heard the 1st AD yell, ‘Cut! Cut!’ He came over to me and said, ‘If you do that again, you’re outta here!’ So, I didn’t get it.”

Leonardo DiCaprio got a huge kick out of the story, and couldn’t help but to laugh at his co-star during the BBC interview. The moment can be viewed below.

It was a great moment between the two, however, it wasn’t the first time the two kept things light during a candid interview.

It Wasn’t The First Time DiCaprio And Pitt Couldn’t Keep It Together During An Interview

In this particular instance, it was Margot Robbie that couldn’t keep things together. During their promotional work for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the main three cast members took on an interview with BBC Radio 1.

During the memorable interview moment, Robbie breaks out into laughter after Brad Pitt reveals the actor he often gets mistaken for. According to Brad, he’s mistaken for Matt Damon on various occasions.

As if that wasn’t great enough, Leonardo DiCaprio also agrees that same ordeal takes place with him as well from time to time, getting mistaken for Damon.

Given that they are the most recognizable actors in the world, Robbie couldn’t help but laugh during the memorable interview moment.
