Matthew McConaughey was pictured mentoring his son on the set of his first movie, Way of the Warrior Kid, in Mission Beach, San Diego on Wednesday.

The Oscar winner, 54, was in full dad mode as he watched over the 16-year-old, and at one point was seen advising him before a take.

Matthew — who shares Levi with Brazilian model Camila Alves, 41 — was pictured reassuring the teenager, who appeared to be nervous in a video from set.

Levi was set to do a pull-up scene, according to TMZ, and turned to his famous father — who is not involved in the movie — for some advice.

The Wolf of Wall Street star is then pictured tapping Levi on the shoulder a number of times for a boost of confidence, before the teen heads off to film his scene.

After their chat, McConaughey was pictured making his way back to the video village.

Levi’s casting in Way of the Warrior Kid – an adaptation of Jocko Willink’s book of the same name – was announced in September.

He has a supporting role opposite Chris Pratt, Linda Cardellini, Jude Hill, and Ava Torres.

In August, Matthew enjoyed some father-son bonding with Levi as they grabbed a lunch break on the set of the movie in Los Angeles.

The film follows Marc (Jude Hill) ‘a self-doubting boy who gets bullied and is hard-pressed to complete a single pull-up, with Cardellini as Marc’s mother, Sarah’ as per Deadline.

Marc’s uncle, Jake (Pratt), is an elite Navy SEAL, who is injured on a mission and moves in with his sister for rehab.

He then uses his SEAL Team training to help his 13-year-old nephew, who is struggling in school and his personal life, as he attempts to help him ‘find his inner warrior.’

Aside from Levi, Matthew and Camila also share daughter Vida, 14 and son Livingston, 11.

In April, the whole family hit the red carpet at a fundraising gala for McConaughey’s nonprofit organization, Mack, Jack & McConaughey.

Levi is a budding influencer with around 300,000 followers after launching his own Instagram profile last year.

He made his Instagram debut as a gift from his parents on his 15th birthday in July of 2023, but mother Camila did admit she feels ‘nervous’ about the social media account.

Before the big reveal, Matthew and Camila took to the same social media to talk about their present while also being open about their concerns.

Matthew said: ‘Happy birthday Levi Alves McConaughey. Can you believe it? Fifteen years young.’

‘Hey, buddy, your mom is a little nervous today. One of the gifts we’re giving you, yes, we are allowing you today to join the social media universe.’

The married couple admitted that they had been discussing for quite a while when they would allow their eldest child to get an account since he was 12-years-old.

Camila said: ‘All his friends have had it for a long time. We’ve been holding up.’

Matthew added: ‘He knows who he is, and he knows where he’s going. I think he can handle it. He’s got a great story to tell and share.’

The Oscar winner then had a personal message for anyone interested in following his teenage son.

The actor sweetly said: ‘I want y’all to know, you’re getting a very cool and respectful young man in Levi McConaughey, and I hope y’all can do your best to treat him the same way.

‘Levi, enjoy the adventure, enjoying telling your story, expressing yourself and what you put out there and the exchange you get with people out there.’

The couple finished off the video with applause as they both said in unison: ‘Happy birthday, go check him out.’

Levi did not waste any time as an hour later he responded to his parents’ social media post with the comment: ‘Mamma and Papai thank you!’

He also went on his feed to share a video montage of him enjoying his many interests which include surfing, cliff diving, skiing, doing volunteer work, and spending time with his friends and family. He captioned it ‘happy to be here.’

There was even a familial touch as the video was played over audio from his iconic Dazed & Confused character from 1993.

McConaughey and Alves initially met in 2006 when they were introduced at a bar in Los Angeles. They became engaged on Christmas in 2011 and went on to tie the knot in Austin in 2012.

Matthew is known for his performances in A Time to Kill, Contact, Interstellar, Dallas Buyers Club, and True Detective.

He won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2014 for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club. He played the role of Ron Woodroof, a Texas electrician diagnosed with AIDS, who begins smuggling experimental drugs into the United States.
