Matthew McConaughey’s wife, Camila, gave out a shout out to an Alabama restaurant on social media this week.
“This is a great restaurant that we went to in Birmingham, Alabama, while working over there,” Camila said in a Facebook story post on Wednesday about Helen, a contemporary Southern grill in Birmingham. “If you’re passing Birmingham, Alabama, this is a good place to get some really good food.”
The McConaugheys were in Birmingham last summer for the actor’s work on “The Rivals of Amziah King,” an upcoming independent film.
The Oscar-winner would pop up in various Alabama locations, either doing his job on set or enjoying a private meal where fans spotted him and even took an occasional photo with him. The movie star was first seen filming at J&J Grocery and Deli in Bessemer and then eating a meal at Frothy Monkey in downtown Birmingham early in the production.
Helen is no stranger to shout outs. In 2021, it was named one of the best new restaurants in America by Esquire.
