Late last year Academy Award-winning actress Jodie Foster was spotted on a rare public outing with her 22-year-old son in the Big Apple.

The Silence of the Lambs actress, 61, is notoriously private about her family life. She shares two children with her ex, Cydney Bernard, and is married to American photographer and director Alexandra Hedison.

Foster recently starred in Netflix sports thriller Nyad alongside Annette Bening and Rhys Ifans.

Jodie Foster married her American photographer and director wife Alexandra Hedison in 2014. Per People, they tied the knot in a private ceremony after dating for almost a year.

Hedison grew up in Hollywood and is a former actress who had supporting roles in Melrose Place and Lois & Clark. Years before marrying Foster, Hedison dated TV host Ellen DeGeneres in the early 2000s. “I’d have to be Oprah to compete with her,” Hedison joked to The New York Times back in 2004.

Foster shares two sons with her ex-partner Cydney Bernard. Both Kit, 22, and Charles, 25, are extremely private. Per British media, Foster made the decision to shield her children from the Hollywood spotlight right away, though they do occasionally make public appearances. Charlie has been photographed alongside his mum backstage at the musical Nevermore: The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe in 2015, and at a Sony Pictures’ Golden Globes Party at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in 2012, and they both showed up to support their mum getting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016.
