Meghan Markle is waiting for the perfect moment — and paycheck — to tell her story!
For months now, there’s been talk of the Duchess of Sussex following in her husband Prince Harry‘s footsteps and releasing a scathing memoir, sharing her side of the royal family feud and more. But according to sources via Closer Online last Tuesday, the Suits alum isn’t quite ready yet — and she’s willing to hold off the publication for one key reason! The insider spilled the tea:
“The word in publishing circles is that everyone’s mad to land Meghan’s memoirs and the numbers being thrown around are ridiculously high. We’re talking tens of millions for her authorised biography — it’s going to get to the point where she can’t say no.”
No wonder she’s waiting! The longer she delays the inevitable, the higher her check will get! She’s not dumb to play hard to get. LOLz!
Speaking of price tags, Harry’s book Spare reportedly made about $27 million, and he is said to have made an advance of $20 million. The paperback will come out later this month, so there’s more money to be made, too. Now, it sounds like the actress’ book will be just as, if not more, lucrative. Why? Well, the insider pointed out:
“And love her or hate her, there’s no denying that she has an insight into the royals that no one else can share.”
Yeah, everyone’s gonna want to hear her take!
But it’s also clear that the Archetypes host has a “remarkable story” to tell. Just see what she’s talked about in various interviews — from her days in Hollywood to her mental health challenges and all the rumors spread about her as a working royal, Meg’s got a lot to share! Harry’s bits about her rivalry with Princess Catherine and his issues with Prince William over Meghan only scratched the surface. But HOW much could she make by opening up?? The source dished:
“Of course, she’ll have to lay everything bare if she wants that kind of payday, and she could probably get even more — figures around the $100m mark are being talked about if she were to do a joint deal for a movie biopic to be released at the same time. She really has had an extraordinary journey.”
THAT much?? Yowza!
That seems like an insane price! But maybe if it’s a multi-book deal or combined with a movie it would get that high??
For now, her lips are sealed until the right deal lands in her lap — but money isn’t the only thing keeping her quiet right now. She’s also just not ready to deal with so much drama. The source shared:
“She’s strategically chosen to hold off for the sake of peace, but she absolutely wants to share her truth – and why shouldn’t she, when she’s endured so much? Make no mistake, she will not be told what she can and cannot say, so when she decides that the time is right, she will write a very truthful and detailed memoir that will delve into every aspect of her journey.”
As for what readers can expect, they continued:
“As much as her life has been a fairy tale, it’s also come with a lot of painful experiences, and she feels strongly she has a message that has the potential to inspire a lot of people. She doesn’t plan to sugarcoat anything, from growing up as a child of divorce and the inspiration she got from her mother Doria, to her ups and downs in Hollywood and what she faced as a woman of mixed-race in the industry. And of course, she will address the good times and bad times in the UK and her experiences with the Royal Family. She’ll want her book to be one of hope and triumph, but she isn’t going to shy away from revealing her darkest moments.”
There’s truly so much to say! And, yes, this is not “good news” for her in-laws! The insider added that the royals might not like the thought of another memoir, but they’re gonna have to deal with another Sussex book “sooner rather than later.” Oof.
Maybe that’ll be inspiration for them to finally make amends with Harry and Meghan?? At least, if they’re on better terms, maybe Meghan might not be inclined to be too harsh! But given how strained things still seem despite King Charles III and Catherine’s cancer treatments, we doubt that’ll happen anytime soon. That said, the Duke’s hopes of reconciliation could be another key reason the mother of two is yet to seek full “revenge.” The source concluded:
“As far as team Sussex is concerned, this will happen — and when it does, it will absolutely be a form of revenge. But the concern of course is whether it would throw any sort of wrench into Harry’s attempts to make peace and wreck it, that’s why the timing is so crucial. But when she’s ready to pull the trigger, it won’t be difficult to write a very accurate book that spans her entire life because she’s been a dedicated journal keeper for years. The royals should be nervous, because all their machinations will be laid bare — and it won’t be pretty.”
